Barman with Digitalocean database

hey everyone 

i am new to barman 

and i wonder if i can use barman to backup my database which is i have it as a service from digitalocean

all tutorial i found the PostgreSQL is installed on operating system such as centos , ubuntu

The question has holes in information, like what exactly is the service provided by digital ocean? Is it similar to Amazon RDS where digital ocean manages the infrastructure and gives you a connection string to use the database service?

These questions, depending on the answers would shed light on if you can use or not barman to manage your backups.

My advice is to ask Digital Ocean which tools they support for backing up your database server.
