Proposal to Participate in the National Call to Action on February 29
What? - We would have a rally that would alert the public to what ALEC is and why it is a direct assault on our democracy.
Why? - The intent is to act in solidarity with other occupations, to create visibility for us in the community, and it would focus on a salient issue, corporate influence in politics, that seems to be popular in the media these days.
How? - We will have 2 distinct actions associated with this.
What? - We would have a rally that would alert the public to what ALEC is and why it is a direct assault on our democracy.
Why? - The intent is to act in solidarity with other occupations, to create visibility for us in the community, and it would focus on a salient issue, corporate influence in politics, that seems to be popular in the media these days.
How? - We will have 2 distinct actions associated with this.
- We could rally or hold a small march in front of the AT&T building, an ALEC contributor. We might expand the march if we can find other corporate contributors in the vicinity of the AT&T building.
- Participating in a HARD community picket at the Walmart distribution center, more details to follow.
