Pasadena City Council meetings added

I added the Pasadena City Council meetings to our Calendar so we can keep up with them. I'm not sure if any of you are aware, but the city had riot police overseeing the OTRP Rally at City Hall following the parade. As far as I know, riot police were NOWHERE ELSE during the week of events. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I'm right, I plan to attend the city council meeting this coming Monday and let them know (as a citizen of Pasadena) that I'm very disturbed at them singling out an Occupy group and using riot police.

I might be wrong. I wasn't all over the city and I've only been here 6 years. We're they anywhere else?

I'd like to get a picture of them. I know Oakfoshoa caught them on video.

I'd have to watch the video again. No matter which they are I think a voice saying it's NOT okay to use riot gear in Pasadena for a simple rally would be a good thing. I'll try to find a copy of the video and watch it again. Oak usually have archives posted.

As luck would have it I can't find it. Unless I can find proof I'm not going to mention it but might go to the meeting anyway.

If I'm remembering correctly, from what I read, it was LA Sheriff's in the riot gear, not PPD.

I want to add that I'm glad it went off without a hitch.

In rechecking the tapes I couldn't find the clip darn it so won't take it to the city council. Carrie, thanks for the info. I was going to complain anyway (why not? lol) because riot gear was used inside our city limits.

There might not be footage, but I know there are articles written about it...maybe pictures within those articles?

Good catch Carrie! Found a picture in the Pasadena Sun which only carried a picture of the riot police and no pictures at all of OTRP. But it's a great picture of the riot police with city hall in the background.
