A PSN reporter contacted me about the PGA's involvement with the Occupy the Rose Parade. I told him that all of our information and agreements have been posted to the website. I also informed him that I am not a spokesperson for the group, I was speaking to him only as an individual.
I said that of course the Occupy Rose Parade people are welcome to come to the PGA and seek our endorsement or invite us to their event autonomously--but that nobody's done that yet.
I gave him the
pasad...@gmail.com email address so that he can contact the communications committee for more commentary if he'd like.
He asked me about my own personal involvement in the movement I told him about Spain, OLA, and how we've recently come together here in Pasadena. And then he asked me what I personally thought of the ORP idea. I told him I thought it was a cool idea, although I wouldn't want to alienate anyone who maybe holds the rose-parade in some sort of high esteem (even though things aren't too rosey in the world today). I also told him I don't think I'd participate because rose parade camping isn't too much my thing. Which he thought was funny because I was in support of occupy. Afterwhich I told him, I think it's not hypocritical to have that stance...the tactics and the movement are different things entirely.
I directed him to my blog to find out more about my involvement. and to the
occupypasadena.org website for more info about the group as a whole.
Just thought I'd share with you.
