Hi!
Sorry I wasn't at the GA this Sunday because I wanted to put out a
call to get more members in this group. Since I wasn't there to give
an update I'll let you know what I've done to date. I'm very much
looking forward to other folks grabbing ball and running!
1. I've become a member of a Facebook page of former law enforcement
and military veterans. Despite having no background except being a
military dependent growing up, they were gracious enough to allow me
to join. Through them I've gotten a lot of information and have a
source where I can ask questions.
3. I have downloaded a number of articles concerning things like
dealing with pepper spray, rubber bullets, tear gas, etc. I have a
source who can go through this stuff and weed out urban legend from
actual procedures that can deal with getting hit by any of the tactics
police have been using. Their specialty is health and safety,
particularly when dealing with hazardous substances.
4. I put Civil Disobedience in the name because I'm noticing that
many younger members are not aware of what that really means. They
seem to think it means don't hit cops but anything else is cool. I
take that from Occupy live cams.. not from media footage. We need to
know how to react when faced with arrest or how to do a real live sit
down strike. Anyone have that background or are willing to take it
and run with it?
5. I'll be emailing the National Lawyer's Guild unless someone else
wants to take that on. We need to know what they can offer like will
they answer questions? Do we call them if we are jailed? Stuff like
that.
