The group that I had a discussion with today on the topic of
alternatives or changes to the Friday marches came up with these
suggestions:

1. roaming GA's through local churches
2. art-related actions through Old Town on a Friday or Saturday night,
including the idea of light graffiti where we would project an image
onto the side of one of the buildings
3. using live music as a part of the march
4. GA's at local schools such as high schools, colleges
5. some sort of community service action that connects us to the city
and/or police, the idea is to give back to the community
6. doing outreach at farmers markets, where part of our message should
be to buy local

A general recommendation was to provide time for reflection after any
action via an informal meeting where we could evaluate whether a
particular action and its results were in line with our expectations
of what the movement should be shooting for.

Our group spent most of our time discussing the Friday Marches and
ways that we could expand our outreach.

1. We felt the marches should remain weekly but should change locations.
2. We discussed South Lake, particularly between Del Mar and
California which is a very bush area during the holidays particularly
Friday evenings. It also has many small businesses and restaurants.
3. We felt that we should expand our outreach to NW Pasadena but were
unable to come up with areas for marches although there are areas we
could target for other direct actions.

If I forgot anything please chime in!

We had a great discussion as well. We did talk a bit about changing
locations, but we talked more about future actions. If you were in my
group please add any that I forgot because I really didn't take notes.
We talked some about books that should be read, Gene Sharp's 198 steps
was brought up.
Talked about the healthcare issue and how it is linked to the occupy
movement. Talked about targeting the lack of insurance we are facing,
then we talked a bit about how I'm asthmatic and how expensive
medications can be. Thought about possibly targeting local Pharma
companies if there are any...or any other healthcare related action.
We talked a lot about education and teach-ins and how to relate the
movement to non members which lead to a discussion about doing teach
ins at farmers markets. Small, one on one type teach-ins.
