Robert E. "Bob" Booth, of Mount Airy, formerly of Laurel, died Aug.
27, 2008, at his home. He was 69.

Born Feb. 25, 1939, in Baltimore, to Janet and Robert Booth, Mr. Booth
graduated from the now-defunct Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in
1957.

He married Erma L. Boone in 1959.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1957 to 1963.

He worked as an industrial specialist for the Naval Air Systems
Command first at the Washington Navy Yard, then at their offices in
Crystal City, Va. He spent most of his working career there and
retired from that position in 1996.

Mr. Booth was active in local freemasonry organizations since the
early 1960s. He served as master of Laurel Wreath Lodge No. 149 in
1970. He served as secretary for four years and treasurer for 20 years
after that. He was the president of the Laurel Temple Holding Corp., a
branch of the Laurel Wreath Lodge, for 10 years. He also holds an
honorary membership at Prudence Lodge No. 190 of Mount Airy.
