The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly delayed the Census Bureau’s timeline for releasing the crucial block-level population data that jurisdictions like Prince George’s County need to redraw its district lines. Without court intervention to move back the current September 1 deadline, the County’s Redistricting Commission will be unable to draw a legal map for the Prince George’s County Council.
