New Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play 5.0

Hi folks,

As some of you may know, version 5.0 of the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play has been released, although it does not go into effect until the beginning of Season 5 of PFS on August 15th. There are a number of changes large and small inherent in the new release. There are also a number of new additions to the official FAQ.

Here are is a brief list of some of the changes from the new Guide:

• Pathfinder Society Field Guide removed from the Core Assumption.
• You can now apply chronicle sheets acquired from playing pregens to any 1st level PCs, not just to brand new 1st level PCs.
• Removal of the Shadow and Lantern Lodge as viable factions.
• Retraining now allowed for non-1st-level PCs by spending gold and prestige (as long as you have a copy of Ultimate Campaign)
• GMs are allowed to replay a number of scenarios for credit equal to the number of GM stars they have acquired.
• GMs receive a bonus on Paizo shirt rerolls equal to the number of GM stars they have acquired.
• "All conditions gained during an adventure, except for permanent negative levels, ability drain that does not reduce an ability score to 0, and conditions that provide no mechanical effect, must be resolved before the end of the session"
• Day Job rolls added when playing modules
• Change in the renumeration received for playing a scenario out of tier
• Faction missions have been changed
• Change in alignment infraction rules now that faction missions have changed
• Introduction of Item Tracking Sheets to keep track of items that are bought/sold/used

Alex, all shadow lodge and lantern lodge characters need to change factions as of the 5.0 guide release date also. That little tidbit is hidden in the guide.

Good catch. Thank you, Chris. If you have a PC of either of those factions of levels 3-7 and haven't played the "retirement" scenario for him or her (Rivalry's End or Way of the Kirin), please let me know so that we can try to schedule a table before the 15th.
