Subject: DMC Greenhouse Non-profit Plant Donation Program

Hello Karlin,

I hope all is well with you and yours.  I wanted to reach out to make you aware of a special program at the DMC Greenhouse.

The DMC Greenhouse was forced to close on March 13th based on the PA Governor’s orders and was unable to facilitate plant sales as outlined in our operational plan for the Spring of 2020.  Onsite operations have resumed, and our commercial production greenhouses are overflowing with plants that need to find a home so the DMC Team can prepare for our 2020 Poinsettia crop and our innovative CEA (controlled environment agriculture) initiative.

Due to an over-abundance of product the DMC Greenhouse has implemented a plant donation program focused on the distribution of the remainder of the Spring Hydrangea and perennial Hibiscus crops.  The program is open to all non-profit organizations.  Plant donations should be used to improve and/or enhance outdoor environments and/or engage constituents in environmental education projects.

DMC Greenhouse Plants available for donation include:

8” Hardy Hydrangea (Pink & Blue) landscape ready

10” Hardy Hydrangea (Pink & Blue) landscape ready

6” Perennial Hibiscus ‘Luna Series’ (red, white with red center, pink swirl) garden starters

8” Perennial Hibiscus ‘Luna Series’ (white with red center) landscape ready

            4” Basil

Interested organizations will submit a donation request (one page) email that includes:

  • Organization name and non-profit designation
  • Contact Information (Street address, website, email address, phone)
  • A brief description of the project (including project address)
  • Plants requested

PLEASE SUBMIT THE ABOVE INFORMATION TO:  orc...@manchesterbidwell.org

DMC Greenhouse locally grown plants are also available for wholesale and retail purchase with special pricing.
Curbside contact-free pickup will be by appointment only and hours will be limited.

We have been presented with a unique opportunity to explore creative approaches to engage our community members while expanding and diversifying our ability to Grow, Teach, and Inspire.

Thank you and please feel free to spread the word!

Mark
