Hi all,

I'm currently working on a simple model with a tidal boundary that also inputs salinity into the system. I'm using a published model by Olorunsaye 2024 to create my tidal condition which uses the sample auxiliary salinity method. However after including my tidal boundary it returns an error saying "Hydrostatic flow conditions are currently not supported by the SALINITY process model." but these are both present within Olorunsaye's model.

I've based my input file off of the 20x20_xz salinity regression test and I'll attach my input file and error message.

Thank you for your help!
Isaac

Isaac,

Last year, I implemented a flag that disables hydrostatic boundary conditions, stemming from concerns regarding the conceptual model and potential accuracy issues.

You can override this flag using the ALLOW_HYDROSTATIC card within the SALINITY process model, but us this unadvertised capability AT YOUR OWN RISK.

    AUXILIARY SALINITY

      SPECIES Tracer 58.442469d0

      ALLOW_HYDROSTATIC
