Dear Friend,
We are so close to making history here in our state, but we have to keep fighting!
Last week, a majority of brave Maryland Senators voted to end the exclusion of loving and committed gay and lesbian couples from marriage. It was a landmark moment - a pivotal step towards fundamental fairness for all Maryland families. Now, it's time for the House of Delegates to send the Civil Marriage Protection Act to Governor O'Malley for his signature.
But it can only happen with YOUR help.
The opposition is mobilized and the time to speak up is NOW. Anti-gay Delegate Don Dwyer (R-Anne Arundel) has sent out communications to churches and synagogues across the state from an organization designated as a hate group - the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Contact your delegates today—EVEN IF YOU THINK THAT THEY ARE SUPPORTIVE or a sponsor of the bill--so they know that marriage discrimination must end.

History is turning in our favor. Support for marriage equality comes from Republicans like Dick Cheney and Cindy McCain and Democrats like Bill Clinton and President Obama. We know that denying marriage to same sex couples means insecurity for their children and gay individuals cannot inherit their spouse's social security, even if they have been together 50 years!
This must end. Marriage inequality is just plain unfair!

It's now or never and it will not happen without your participation and you encouraging your family and friends to take action. Every Marylander who believes in equal treatment must make a call and send an e-mail to their delegates EVERY DAY until we win this vote! Let's make history together in Maryland.
Yours in Equality,
Morgan Meneses-Sheets
Executive Director
PS- We know that we can't win civil marriage for all Marylanders on our own. Please forward this email on to 5 of your friends, so we can spread the message of love.
