Hello,

My name is Kim Zemel and I received your contact information from Elizabeth Schmitz. We are currently working together to plan a Washington and Oregon regional cohort day for the Summer Institute for Climate Change Education. We were hoping to spread the word about this opportunity beyond our networks here in Washington, to ensure Oregon educators are aware of the opportunity. Is this something you would be willing to share with your network or add to your newsletter?

Below is the description for the Summer Institute for Climate Change Education:

• Hosted by Climate Generation and NOAA’s Climate Program Office, the three-day climate change education conference is built by educators and climate change professionals from across the US, Canada, and the Pacific Islands. This three-day experience will have powerful and engaging keynote speakers, meaningful discussion about the intersection of social justice and climate change, and collaborative conversations between a national network of climate change education leaders.
• National sessions will be held virtually on July 15 and 16, followed by a regional cohort day for Washington and Oregon led by IslandWood on July 18 via Zoom.
• Scholarships are available, and you can learn more on IslandWood’s website here.
