The sun will be back, says the forecast. In the morning we’ll be identifying and removing more weeds, both edible and not. Some from around precious native wildflowers - learn advanced plant identification! Bring your bag to fill with veggies.
In the afternoon, a more formal class.
-weeding tools and techniques: get the weeds out with less work and save your wrists;
-tips for planting tomatoes, squashes and leeks;
-harvesting your tender fresh veggies for best flavor and least work, with no stringy bits;
-edible flowers; and more late spring gardening tips.
This class will be outdoors, so please dress for the weather.
Cost: $20-45 sliding scale.
When: 1-3:30 pm Saturday, May 11
Location: Cully neighborhood, NE Portland. Frequent service on Trimet #75. Off-street bike parking available. Address sent on registration.
