No board experience is necessary—we’re just looking people who know the community, care about kids, and want to help make sure our work stays rooted in what families and schools need.
You might be a great fit if you:
Have strong personal or professional ties to one of our partner schools
Have lived experience navigating food systems, education, cultural identity, or equity issue
Can help us think strategically about budgets, funding, and sustainability
Might be open to serving as Treasurer (or supporting that role)
Can offer insight into risk management, leadership transitions, or internal capacity
The commitment is pretty manageable:
Time: About 2–4 hours a month
Financial contribution: Whatever feels meaningful to you
Impact: Helping keep youth garden programs thriving across Portland.
We’re especially looking for someone thoughtful, passionate about equity, and open to sharing their voice to help shape where we go next.
If this sounds like something you’d be into, you can reach out directly to the organization by emailing ad...@growportland.org. You can also check out more info or express interest here: Grow Portland Board Interest Form 2025
Thanks so much for considering it!
