Subject: [OFSSGN Garden Educators] Farmer Connection for CRUNCH Produce

Good Afternoon,
If you are currently trying to source a crunchy vegetable or fruit for your "CRUNCH" next month--this message is for you.

Last year I worked with Melissa from Sun Love Farm in Oregon City to get 3,500 lunchbox peppers for our district and the quality was incredible. She absolutely loves working with schools and made it so easy. She just reached out because her peppers are going crazy right now. We won't be getting peppers this year since we try to have the crunch be something different each time but if you are interested in more information, her email is mel...@sunlovefarm.com

Here's the info she shared with me: We don't have as many lunchbox peppers this year, but have tons of larger peppers like stocky red roaster, stocky yellow roaster, red jimmy nardello, and yellow jimmy nardello that could be cut up for a tasting . Jimmy Nardellos are super fun because they look like a spicy pepper, but are sweet :) We sell them $8/lb at market, but as long as the order is 5 lbs or more, the cost is reduced to $5/lb

Hope this helps at least one of you!
Sincerely,
Helena Kilstrom (she/her)
