OK so...after doing some rereading of the rules on eidolons and searching through some of the forums I have come to the following conclusions:

1. I slightly regret ever stepping foot into the hot mess that is the Pathfinder Summoner class...

2. "The eidolon does not heal naturally."

"Natural Healing

With a full night's rest (8 hours of sleep or more), you recover 1 hit point per character level. Any significant interruption during your rest prevents you from healing that night.

If you undergo complete bed rest for an entire day and night, you recover twice your character level in hit points."

It says nothing about not being affected by healing spells, only that it doesn't heal 'naturally'.

3. "Eidolons are treated as summoned creatures, except that they are not sent back to their home plane until reduced to a number of negative hit points equal to or greater than their Constitution score."

4. Add #3 to this fact about Life Link: "Whenever the eidolon takes enough damage to send it back to its home plane, the summoner can, as a free action, sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hit point sacrificed in this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the eidolon. This can prevent the eidolon from being sent back to its home plane."

This means that the eidolon will be staggered at 0 HP, go unconscious when below 0 HP and I will not be able to use Life Link until it reaches its max negative...

5, Also, Matt, there is some confusion about what to do when an eidolon reaches 0 CON, which will send it back home ("dead"). But since they don't heal naturally...as soon as I were to resummon it, it would be sent back (still at 0 CON). That is something that you need to think about...

I'm sure that there are more, but the more I read the more I hope that Kaylesh steps on a fireball trap and dies...

Regarding the ability damage here is a forum on the Paizo website discussing the issue:  http://paizo.com/forums/dmtz4k2c?Eidolons-and-ability-damage

This is from the ultimate magic FAQ:

Remember also that the eidolon does not heal naturally. Just like hit point damage, any ability damage or drain the eidolon has persists between when it is banished/dismissed/killed and when it is resummoned. The exception is an eidolon killed by Con damage (which, if resummoned, would still be at 0 Con and immediately die and vanish); in this situation, the resummoned eidolon is cured of 1 point of ability damage or drain so the amount of damage or drain is 1 less than its actual Constitution score, allowing it to live.

That's good stuff Ron. Yeah, summoners are the most confusing class
ive ever dealt with, but people always want to play them because
controlling a custom monster is bad ass. I'm sure you'll love the
class as soon as you get the hang of it. The life link stuff makes
sense. We'll go with that. As far as the 0 con dying thing. If
your eidilon ever takes enough con drain to die then we will cross
that bridge. That's not a very likely scenario. If it did happen I
may have it dead until next level or send you on a quest or something.
But don't worry, I wont permanently gimp the class.
