((This thread will be to role-play the last 30 minutes or so of Ragnivald's brewing / post combat -- we'll also use this to develop a plan moving forward.))

After nearly being devastated by traps in the narrow kobold corridor our heroes dig in side by side ready to face their foes as Ragnivald mixes a concoction that he ensures will greatly aid our party.  After 10 minutes of waiting the kobolds strike first, predictably leading their attack with poisonous bugs.  Despite the sudden raid into the hall all they accomplished was losing a few more of their number.  Tired of the bugs our heroes use their torches to set up a wall of fire, but the kobolds countered with an oil attack that nearly burned our party alive; however, after the initial blast of heat we managed to hold the hall still.  Now collecting the dead bodies we stacked them one over another forming a wall of flesh to provide some cover.  It was needed as the kobold's charged in with their leader in a heavy attack.  The fighting was brutal and quickly turned into a melee in the tight corridor, but once again our heroes managed to hold the hall and route the enemy.

--------------------------------

Hamorgrim, listening to the screams of the panicked Kobolds, speaks, "I don't speak the language, but I understand their message," he turns grinning at his companions and then in his best girly voice, "Flee, flee, flee.  Flee the dwarves, flee the immovables."  He ends his mockery with a burst of laughter.  "Be proud, though our enemy thought to overwhelm us we held our ground and showed why the stout hearts and stubbornness of dwarves is so feared in battle."

Ragnivald shouts out in response to his cousin's mockery, "And, soon they'll see how well we can hunt beneath the ground!" He looks back down the hallway we came from, pulls out a candle, and approaches the wall muttering, "what were they trying to get out of here?" He lights the candle and after examining the wall for a few seconds exclaims, "we be blessed if we can clear this mine out! The gods smile one us! first with emeralds now with silver." He walks back over to his makeshift alchemy station and looks to Eir, "can't wait to tell your father! We can use these resources in our conquest to take back what is rightfully ours!"

After hearing the news,? Dorn becomes extra cheerful and starts to slowly mutter a few words. It begins to sound more like a rant.  Ahahahahahah come out you fools, I'll use my tools to slash and cut right through your rules. I'll stomp and chomp, to rid the planes of the likes of you. I'll pillage and plumber these mines i call home. But first I'll send you bloody kobolds to rest in your tomb. Damn you fools, don't you know the name of Dorn

"Ragnivald, please hurry, I do not know if we can continue to hold out. My goddess, though powerful enough to make sure you are still living, has only granted me a few spells left for the day. If they continue to attack we might have to retreat." Eir says in a raspy out of breath tone, exhausted and tired from all the smoke inhalation, " Hamorgrim and Dorn, how is the hall way, and Kaylesh, our our backs secure?"

"Ha! You god certainly doesn't have the endurance of the unicorns who she fondles!" Ragnivald says to Eir mockingly so everyone can hear, "it'll just be a little while longer then you can have precious beauty rest if you can't continue like a true dwarf."

"Ha! Eir you must be deaf!" Hamorgrim says, "listen to the cowardly squeals as they flee.  Why do you speak of retreat?  Because your elf goddess's blessing only goes so far?  I've hardly been nicked and this has been no more dangerous than many a bar brawl I've been in.  Either your fondness for elves, pampered upbringing or perhaps both have made you weak.  There is no retreat from here now, not when we have the tactical advantage."

Grim reloads his crossbow, "If there is to be any going back it will only be to ask your father for more men.  If the five of us, one who has been playing with potions the whole time, can hold the hall against these numbers then imagine what we could do with more dwarves.  Tomorrow we have to head back anyways to complete our mission, lest they send more of our kin on a search and rescue.  But after that we should return with more dwarves and set up a forward base, one where we can easily launch attacks into these halls and rest afterwards."

Grim lays prone pointing his weapon in the direction of the crying kobolds.

It is funny, but I am agreeing with all of you. We cannot stop our push into the lair of these damned kobolds, but we also must remember what Hamorgrim has said; we are expected back to the mines soon. We cannot waste our time. We are not even certain that the others came this way. I would think that had the a group of dwarves cut their way through these halls recently we would see signs of it. Or at least the kobolds would be less likely to attack us, thinking us to be part of a bigger force.

We will not run from this fight, Eir, and I believe that Larue will give you the strength that you need. Once our odd little alchemist friend has finished, we should be on our way and settle the issue with these bastard kobolds.

"Alright this is nearly done." Ragnivald blurts out out after a few more minutes, he puts his stuff away letting the Draught cool, stirs it once more, and gets ready to drink it. "Everyone ready?" He looks to each of you with a eager smile on his face.

With a twirl of her hammer, Eir gets down on one knee, sets her shield by her side and draws out a round white stone. After few words, the stone bursts with light, looking like a mini moon in her hand. "Lurue, watch over us, as we get back at those insufferable Kobolds," she says in a whisper. The light dissipates, and she places the stone back in her belt pouch. She stands and grabs the shield, "All right, ready whenever you are Ragnivald. Lets go crack some skulls, for no one throws fire bombs and blackens my armor and clothes without retribution."

Ragnivald looks at Eir his face contorted and puzzled, "you're quite feminine for a dwarf --even a female. I haven't decided if it turns me on, but since your saving yourself for me I'll let you know soon as I can sort it out." He gives a half hearted laugh. He looks to the rest of you to make sure you are all ready.

Dorn hearing the the last words muttered out of ragnivalds mouth and spouts, "don't let her catch you with your pants at your kankles. It's not a lovely site in deed. Ragnivalds are you done doing your cooking. I know you be hungry but I got an itch, twitch to kill some beasts. And if we don't get goin soon well you know exactly what will happen."
