[President Ziaur Rahman, one of the greatest leaders of the nation, was assassinated on 30 May 1981 in an Indian plot, in which both Ershad and Hasina cooperated. Keeping this sad day in mind, R. Chowdhury, who, as a young captain, fled from the Pakistan Army in Lahore to join the freedom war in 1971, and fought heroically in the Z-Force, commanded by Ziaur Rahman, wrote this fascinating story of his interactions with Ziaur Rahman both during the freedom war and in later years, and revealed the greatness of Ziaur Rahman, who declared the independence of Bangladesh, organised and led the freedom war, achieved glorious victory, and later rescued the country from the deep abyss of Mujib rule, and lifted the country to a respectable height. R. Chowdhury, later worked as a Lt Colonel and a Dy Ambassador, is a well-known author of half a dozen books and co-author of about a dozen. Please see the excellent article, as follows:]
