Dear All
We informed you on 28 January 2022 that 15 Rights Organisations, including our organisation, the Coalition
for Human Rights and Democracy in Bangladesh (CHRD Bangladesh), jointly
wrote to the Attorney General of Bangladesh, with copies to Law Minister and Home Minister, and called for release of Nusrat Shahrin Raka,
sister of Bangladeshi persecuted journalist Dr. Kanak Sarwar.
We forwarded the letter to you.
It is a great relief that Nusrat Raka has now been released on bail. For the sake of human rights and democracy, we demand release of all political
prisoners, and stopping of all persecutions, all enforced disappearances, and extra-judicial killings. Please see the Statement of CHRD Bangladesh (written
by Ahmad U. Shihab, Advisor to CHRD Bangladesh and uploaded
on the website by Sabria Chowdhury Balland, Vice President
and Treasurer, CHRD Bangladesh) on the release on bail of Nusrat Raka as uploaded in our website:
