R. Ahmed, an economist and geostrategic analyst, based in the UK., posted his following views in WhatsApp, on 18 August 2025, on how India ripped Bangladesh until the revolution of 5 August 2024:

"WHY INDIA NEEDS TO MAINTAIN ITS HEGEMONY OVER BANGLADESH 🇧🇩 ?
Read carefully the commentaries below, which I wrote to all my WhatsApp daily news mail out recipients on 19th August 2024. What I wrote exactly a year ago is still very relevant for us today to understand and reflect upon them. 😔
It's important that we put in perspective what India is going to lose out in economic and financial terms. Please circulate the commentaries widely so that the Bangladeshis and all their friends and allies are fully aware of the ongoing important economic and financial implications of the 2024 Bangladesh Popular Revolution for both India and Bangladesh.
If India stole 1.5 trillion dollars (1500 billion dollars)[150,000 million] dollars 💸 during the 2009-2024 period, just think 🤔 how many more trillions of dollars 💸 they had looted and plundered from Bangladesh since 16th December 1971 after the Pakistani General Niazi handed over Bangladesh to General Aurora of the Indian Army 😳
The Bangladeshi horror show had started ever since then non-stop 😢.
We are currently in a transitional period, and we are still not fully out of the woods, i.e. we are NOT YET A FULLY FLEDGED INDEPENDENT AND SOVEREIGN NATION STATE, with full agency in our own hands🤚.
Please kindly pray for Bangladesh so that we can become one soon,  inshAllah 🇧🇩 🤲 🙏🏻."

"I think more than the insurgencies in the NE, which may be a problem in 5 years' time, India's immediate problem is that of losing around 100 billion dollars annual income from Bangladesh 🇧🇩. India's rapacious economic exploitation of Bangladesh will be over soon, InshAllah.
The tally is below:
It had a free ride on Bangladesh for the past 15 years because of Hasina's humongous concessions, but no longer.
Already the free transit which gave them 10 billion dollars annual benefits are over. They will, from now on, will have to pay the duties, tariffs and the transit costs, and also the various other charges and customs fees. No more free lunch!
Their annual exports of 12 billion dollars to Bangladesh are grinding to a halt due to the acceleration of the 'Boycott Indian Goods', which started in the beginning of 2024 in Bangladesh after Hasina's rigged elections in January.
The Bangladeshi medical tourism of 12 billion dollars is going to stop due to the past 2 weeks abysmal treatment of  the Bangladeshis in various Indian airports.
The tens of thousands of Bangladeshi students in India used to spend another 10 billion.
The ordinary Bangladeshi tourism was 12 billion annually. Probably, they will go Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives, and Malaysia now - all still cheap destinations.
The 1.5 million Indians working in the various sectors (in Bangladesh) used to send remittances of 16 billion dollars annually.
The black economy of smuggling was from 30 - 50 billion dollars!
I  am using the lowest figure of 30 billion.
That leads to a GRAND TOTAL OF OVER 100 BILLION DOLLARS OF INDIAN INCOME LOSSES FROM THEIR BELOVED SONAR BANGLA!
No wonder they gave it as our national anthem 🤔."

"The Younus government should not worry too much now about the fiscal and budgetary issues as this COLLOSAL drainage on our national exchequer and economy will soon cease InshAllah with the various appropriate policies taken by the Ministry of Finance and all the other various relevant ministries.
The Bangladeshi public urgently needs to be educated on how India RIPPED Bangladeshis of over 1500 billion dollars (1.5 trillion dollars) just between 2009-2024 Hasina's Awami 'Thief' League government alone.
Just imagine the trillions of dollars India made between 1971-2024 from Bangladesh!
No wonder, that they never wanted us to go from their suffocating elephant hug! Oh boy! What a huge hug!!!
The people of Bangladesh now need to be fully conscious and aware of all the Indian agents and the fifth columnists inside Bangladesh, identify them all, and then sternly deal with all of them under the due process of law. THIS IS AN URGENT NATIONAL IMPERATIVE, IF WE BANGLADESHIS ARE TO SURVIVE AS AN INDEPENDENT, SOVEREIGN STATE .
May Allah swt Protect our beloved Bangladesh 🇧🇩 🙏 ❤️. Ameen."
