Theproblem solved for me by saving as the picture as PNG (might work with other format too) whereas the original is JPG. In windows I just open in with Paint and save as. I believe doing this remove all the attribute of the original picture including geotag or whatever that turn it upside down in Sketchup.

Hi all. I have a Canon MP280 Pixma, and everything I scan comes out upside down and backward. I installed the latest driver and scanned again, and it is still coming out upside down and backward. Yes, I have some photo-editing software I can fix it with, but I would rather not be forced to do all that extra work. Is there a fix? Thanks and cheers, Book Doctor Gwen

Adding to my post, I am running Windows 7 and using a USB cable to connect to my printer. I am scanning using the Canon software, and I am making bitmaps. I am in North America and we have 120 outlets. My shoe size is 9 1/2. Thanks and cheers. (PS -- the spellcheck in this chatroom says Pixma not found. lol)

I have a new tr8500. When scanning a multi page doc, some are upside down. Reading the fix a couple threads below WORKED. Settings > Save To PC (Document) > Resolution > Then Uncheck the two boxes Correct slanted text and Detect the Orientation and Rotate the Document. I unchecked those two boxes and it is now working fine.

One of my Arlo camera is showing upside down. The unit is set up properly and the video was fine and all of the sudden it is showing the room upside down, while the rest of cameras are fine. I went into settings but I cannot find anything that shows me how to rotate back to shoe the room the right way. Why is it showing upside down when I did not do anything to the settings or even tough the camera for that matter. Can someone please help me eresolve this if you have any idea how to correct this situation for me. Thank you.

I am a newbie and am wanting to build a book project. I have done my master page and now when I want to go type on page one, my text is coming out upside down. But also the entire document seems upside down as page one is at the bottom on the left of the 123 page setup, when I asked to start on the right.

One way this happens inadvertently very easily is if you grab the middle bottom handle and drag it over the top of the text frame and hold down the Shift key while doing so. (Dragging over flips the text vertically and holding down the Shift key flips it horizontally.)

Holding the Shift key is not necessary, in my experience. You can always simply drag the top center node down past the bottom center node to flip vertically (or vice versa). Same works with the side center nodes. And this works for all the shapes a text frame can have.

Thanks. That's an intresting side-effect of constraining the aspect ratio of the Text Frame. It gets very narrow as it gets shorter, and at the cross-over point you've flipped both edges of the frame, flipping it (and the text) both horizontally and vertically.

I need the tags to read at the orientation of the viewport of my planting plan sheet but when I rotate my drawing and try to organize my plant tags the text for the tag flips upside down and I can't get it to read horizontally left to right in the orientation that I need.

We fought with something similar in title blocks recently. The workaround at that time was to rotate the text by 0.02 degrees (not 0.01). that was enough to trick the autoflip to ignore those text blocks while not being enough to be noticeable in the overall drawing.

Hi,

@viviang If your camera appears upside down when viewing in the app, this is due to the image rotation. To correct this issue, from the app home screen, click on the hexagon symbol inside your camera thumbnail. In Settings, click on Camera Settings. Next to Image Rotation, click on the green toggle switch to disable. In live view the image will be displayed right side up.

When I go to map the image with a symbol, it renders completely backwards (upside down, text reversed) but what's weird is that I originally did it, it worked. It's just after opening up the file after closing and saving it (even the preview image has it correct, it just doesn't load at all. It almost seems like the surface numbers are different than they were originally too).

I'm experiencing the same exact thing. The mapped art/symbol is upside down! It's on the front-face of the object, and I have to rotate the symbol upside down in the "Map Art" preview dialog positioning pop-up, for it to appear right-side up on the 3D object. Very frustrating!

I had the exact same problem and it was very frustrating! But I figured it out! My problem was that when I drew with the pen tool, I used the outline of the shape instead of filling the shape. Once I turned on fill and no outline, everything works perfectly well. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the response.

I had just a zig-zag path and was using 3D (Classic) Extrude.

Flattening the stroke with to fill didn't help.

It is difficult to tell if that were frontfaces or backfaces.

I guess if that was a matter of front/back faces - reversing the path should make a change, but did not.

Thank you.

That's what I did. Rotated the content of all the symbols.

But why can't I change that by reversing the path?

Maybe there are some reasons that I can't realize or we could propose or submit some feature request to the Illustrator team.

Thanks.

The photos are other artboards exported to .jpg, then imported back from the same .ai file.

I had just a feeling of missing something or doing something wrong when having to rotate all of them.

I had a look at your images and the difference I notice is between the orientation axes.

For example if you have a look at the bottom left corner of your images you can easily check the difference. Did you add an orientation constraints?

I clicked on the airplane icon as you requested. The result was that the mesh is still upside down - but the view is looking down on the level mesh - just from the bottom because the mesh is upside down.

VENKATESH: So, I actually never thought I would be interested in looking at baseball from the standpoint of a job, and one of my students, Justin Humphries, used to play baseball for the Houston Astros organization. And he was in my class.

HUMPHRIES: So, I was sitting in his classroom, I started thinking about all the issues that I had seen in independent baseball and affiliated baseball: guys living check-to-check, struggling with whether they should go back to school, family life, issues at home. And I thought if I could use some of the things that we were learning in class, talk to some of these guys, and find out whether the stories and things that I was seeing and hearing would be reflected in the numbers.

GREITENS: It is a week of continuous military training during which most classes sleep for a total of two to five hours over the course of the entire week. During Hell Week they have you running for miles in soft sand on the beach, doing two-mile ocean swims, running the obstacle course, they put you on small teams and ask you to land small rubber boats on jagged rocks in the middle of the night. There are all of these tests which are designed to push people to their physical, mental and emotional limit.

Carsten WROSCH: People who are better able to let go when they experience unattainable goals, they have the experience, for example, less depressive symptoms, less negative affect over time. They also have lower Cortisol levels, and they have lower levels of systemic inflammation which is a marker of immune functioning. And they develop fewer physical health problems over time.

DUBNER: This is a puzzle and we need your help in solving it. If persistence is a virtue, generally, how is a person to know when he or she under which circumstances he or she should quit or disengage?

MAXINE: You know, I never think about retiring. I know many workers who are in their fifties, sixties, I met one in her early seventies who is still working. And in our current society with the tearing down of our infrastructures and our social security nets, all of us are going to be working for a long time.

DUBNER: All right, so there are those prostitutes who do quit. And I just wonder, you know, how does that happen? If you want to go from sex work into the legitimate labor market, how do you go about, for instance, putting together a resume?

VENKATESH: So dealing with the resume, making a creative resume is one thing. But when you leave sex work, you also face this issue about taking a huge pay cut. They will probably never make that kind of money again. We spoke to someone, Maya, who is a former prostitute who now works as a booker, as a manager. She schedules and screens appointments for other sex workers in Tucson, Arizona.

DUBNER: When you look back at the decision you made, which was a big one, to quit your religious lifestyle and religious community, talk to me about the price that you feel you paid or the benefit that you gained.

DUBNER: So, Emma, if you could just describe as briefly as you want, kind of, your childhood, you know, your family growing up and getting to the point where you decided to leave, and why and how that happened.

DUBNER: Did it feel like you became a different person? Are you the same person who just needed a change of scenery? I guess what I really want to know is what was the cost to you of quitting the Amish? What were the downsides? And what were the upsides?
