I understand that this is not very important and any location in the file system should be ok, but was just wondering whether there are such standard locations (I think there would be one). For instance where is Firefox or Libre Office (that are installed by default)?
The location where software gets installed depends on how you install it. If you use the most obvious method (Ubuntu Software Center/.deb's) it generally gets installed to the default locations. In that case libraries will end up in /usr/lib/ (Libraries for the binaries in /usr/bin/ and /usr/sbin/.) and the executable in /bin (Essential command binaries that need to be available in single user mode; for all users, e.g., cat, ls, cp), /usr/bin or /usr/sbin (Non-essential command binaries (not needed in single user mode); for all users).
App Library shows your apps organized into categories, such as Social, Entertainment, and Productivity & Finance. The apps you use most are near the top of the screen and at the top level of their categories, so you can easily locate and open them.
Because you can find all of your apps in App Library, you might not need as many Home Screen pages for apps. You can hide some Home Screen pages, which brings App Library closer to your first Home Screen page. (When you want to see the hidden pages again, you can show them.)
You'll find some apps on your Home screens, and all your apps in All Apps. You can open apps, switch between apps, and find 2 apps at once. Learn how to find and move your apps with our step-by-step tutorial.
To choose whether your Start menu settings show the most used apps at the top of your all apps list, or whether they show recently downloaded apps in the recommended section, select Start > Settings > Personalization > Start and turn Show recently added apps or Show most used apps on or off.
To pin your favorite apps to the Start menu or to the taskbar, select and hold (or right-click) the app you want to pin. Then select Pin to Start, Pin to taskbar, or More > Pin to taskbar.
To choose whether your Start menu settings show all your apps or only the most used ones, select Start > Settings > Personalization > Start and adjust each setting you want to change.
I'm kind of new to the QRadar, and I've been testing for QRadar and Resilient ( or IBM SOAR) functions for about a month. I always have troubles to complete the process "Changing where apps are run" with QRadar version 7.4.2 (Fix Pack 2 & 3). The process always stop at
The only time I didn't have this error while migrating apps is that one time I use 7.3.3(unpatched, for both console & app host) instead of 7.4.2. And it seems like most people (including my colleague) did not have such problem and that there is no resource on the internet regarding this issue. Have anyone met this situation or have any idea what might caused this issue?
Thank you all for clarifying this.
To Apple's software developers - this is literally THE DUMBEST and most ridiculous decision you guys have made. I assume Jonny Ives had nothing to do with this UI change - I'm an industrial designer myself and any self-respecting designer would never do something stupid like that. The ability to manage apps in Itunes, on my desktop, with my mouse on a large monitor wasn't just a great feature, it was essential, expected, and natural. Remember guys - when you release new updates you're supposed to make your product BETTER, NOT WORSE. You've just made it decidedly worse. And to add insult to injury, you've totally skipped any notices, explanations or anything to just clue in millions of us who updated Itunes that app management feature is gone. Talk about missing Steve Jobs' thinking when you need it.
The idea is that all app management takes place on the device. If you have any apps that are no longer in the store that you want to put on your device these will still be in the old Mobile Applications folder and can be manually dragged & dropped to the device. Likewise with ringtones.
If you have media on your computer that you can't redownload from the App Store or iTunes Store directly on your iOS device, such as custom ringtones or iOS apps, you can drag and drop the media from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes.
I completely agree. I use iTunes to manage apps across multiple devices. This is important with my daughter's iPod so I can monitor what she is using when I update. I would appreciate Apple at least explaining the logic behind their changes so I don't assume that they are more interested in controlling how I manage my devices versus actually letting users do it.
The new iTunes give no explanation at all about what happened to your library of apps or where to find it. There are articles showing up explaining simply that Apple removed all iOS apps from iTunes and that you are supposed to now manage your apps on your iOS device. However, your library of purchased iOS apps is not visible on your iOS device.
Yes, but where do you drag the Apps to, there isn't an App folder?
Managing Apps across several iDevices is now a complete nightmare. What could be better than seeing everything on a big monitor? This is not progress. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Thanks. What you described re: moving i0S apps from my iTunes Media folder to the device in iTunes did work. And, I have to say I REALLY do not like not being able to see the big picture of my iOS apps library. I can only hope that Apple will provide a way to view all iOS apps as a "library" and manage these apps when they release the expected updated, upgraded, redesigned App Store app.
even the ringtones are gone... how are we going to select those apps that we bought over the last few years to each of our iPhone and iPad ? some of the purchased apps are no longer available on the App Store too.
with Qlik Sense on Server you can't do a binary load because apps arge stored without File Extension and a id as filename. Theres arge some Workarounds but Change thinking QlikView is equal to Qlik Sense
Select the Advanced options link under the name of the app (some apps don't have this option). On the page that opens, select Repair if it's available. If it isn't available or doesn't fix the problem, select Reset.
I am running red hat linux and wanted to know where are my apps installed? Right now I have vim 7.2 and I want to know where that is installed so I can update it to 7.4. How does one find out where apps are installed? What is the equivalent of program files folder for linux?
The app is installed by the name of activity, have u tried locating the activity name or the app name if mentioned in manifest.Or check the apps tab in settings and check the latest installed apps if at all it is installed on device.
The latest Samsung devices come pre-installed with One UI, an operating system that has been specifically designed to make things simpler, clearer and easier to use. One of the design features has been the removal of the apps button, giving you more space for your most used app icons.
You can access all of your apps by swiping up on your home screen.
