Hi Guys,
 
I would like very much to discuss the direction that we are taking with this website. It has been 1 year since we started it. It has been a great for me, and I can only hope that it has been great for all of you and that it will continue.
 
But I strongly feel that if we are to be truly successful, we need to make decissions on what direction we are going to take.
 
We need to organize ourselves so that we all participate in our goal.
 
We need to determine our goal, and then determine what each of us can contribute towards that goal.
 
It seems to me that we are all expecting Melissa to do everything, and I do not feel that is being very fair towards Melissa.
 
Very few of us are able to show up at the meetings, yet we have this web group where we can all communicate.
 
I thought that our goal was to make Pearland aware of our group, and to also be able to help each other out when necessary. We are definitely helping each other out, but I feel we are lacking in getting our website name out there. We have done a couple of PR events, but I still feel we could do more.
 
I think we need to put people in positions that are qualified to handle tasks such as adding to the website, selecting PR events and recommending them to the group.
 
We need to discuss days of the week for the meetings so that more people can attend. When we first started this group. Pearland was only built up East of 288. Now it is also built up West of 288. I think we may be able to find another venue that we could possible meet at on Saturdays or Sundays. It could also be further down 518 towards 1128 or even 35, so long as it is easy to get to and not overly congested. The main thing is to find a time and place where the majority of us can meet.
 
Melissa mentioned openning an account to put money into for expenses. I think we need to come up with additional monies for PR events and advertising. If one of us could present their idea of advertising and PR in advance, then we could set a goal to collect the money needed for that event. I know some of you barely make enough money to pay for your gas, much less pay your own personal expenses, but if we have a goal towards an event 3 months from now, we have a better chance to being able to achieve that goal than if we waited till the last minute. Also, if we have this goal for an event, and we do not make the necessary money needed, then we can always put that money towards to next event.
 
I really feel that more of us need to participate in our group, but I also realize that some of us may feel they are too busy. I understand that because I too am really busy at times. So if any of you feel that you can contribute in ways that may benefit us all, please respond to this.
 
If you do not like this idea, and nobody responds, than I will simply drop the notion, and we will continue as before.
