[Pete Petersen Jazz]

Hey everybody! I've got some really exciting news this month.

 

First of all, let's get the gushy self-absorbed posturing out of the way: It is my humble privilege to announce that I have been named October's "Musician of the Month" by the Jazz Society of Oregon. This is an honor for me, and a big deal. My heartfelt thanks to all of you, the people who come out and support me at live gigs, the people who buy my CDs and download my music from iTunes, and the people who enjoy what I do enough to tell others about it. You're the reason I'm in this business doing what I do. Stay tuned for the JSO's monthly newsletter, there's a big full-page interview/article about me by Nancy Tice, along with some snazzy photos by Boise's own vocal sensation, the "Treasure from the Treasure Valley", Amy Weber. (You all knew she could sing, bet'cha didn't know she's an amazing photographer too!)

 

I'd also like to thank all of you for taking me up to #9 on the ReverbNation jazz charts. Same goes as above: it's because of you that I do what I do.

October 8th: PORTLAND, OR - "Sinatra by Starlight" The Tony Starlight Band performs the music of Frank Sinatra. Tony Starlight's Supperclub and Lounge 3728 NE Sandy 8:00PM $10 

 

October 15th: PORTLAND, OR - "Sinatra by Starlight" The Tony Starlight Band performs the music of Frank Sinatra. Tony Starlight's Supperclub and Lounge 3728 NE Sandy 8:00PM $10 

 

October 16th: OREGON CITY, OR - Ellen Whyte band at the Trail's End Saloon

 

October 21st: PORTLAND, OR - "Artists Series" at Tony Starlight's: this month featuring Ellen Whyte singing in front of the Porkpie Septet; We've got a great show put together featuring a few of Ellen's 'signature' tunes as well as jazz standards and some completely new material too! 7:30pm ALL AGES $8

 

October 22nd: PORTLAND, OR - the Pete Petersen Quartet (with Andre St James, Ed Pierce, Brian Ward) Jazz Society Appreciation night: Jazz Society members get $2 off the price of admission! Wilf's at Union Station; 800 NW 6th, Portland. 8:00pm, $8 to the general public, $6 for JSO members
