Hey everyone! I would like to let you know about a hip new venue: Ivories Jazz Lounge, on the corner of 14th & Flanders in the Pearl District in NW Portland. They've been open for only a couple of months now and already they're making a name for themselves as one of Portland's world-class jazz venues.  I'll be there tonight, January 27 with the Templeton Trio, including Jim Templeton on piano, Kevin Dietz on bass, and Charles Neal on drums. If you haven't been there yet, you're missing out - in addition to the music, the food there is incredible. Last week I had a steak that was absolutely perfect. 8:30pm $10 21+

Also look forward to February 3rd, the full Septet will be rockin' and swingin' for your enjoyment at Vie de Boheme Wine Bar in SE Portland at 1530 SE 7th (between Hawthorne and Clay on SE 7th ave) This ensemble is smokin' hot featuring Ed Pierce, Jon Shaw, Greg Garrett, Bryan Dickerson and Stan Bock and a repertoire that spans eight decades of jazz from the 20s through the 00's. 8:00pm $10 21+

On February 10th I'll be playing with vocalist Carri Bella for her CD Release Party, celebrating the release of her CD "Wicked Muse". That's at Vie de Boheme too, so come on out and have some wine as you enjoy Carri's lush vocals with a slammin' band including Derek Sims on trumpet, Scott Steed on bass, Todd Strait on drums, and Mike Horsfall on piano and vibes.

This year is looking to be a good one for the Septet and other projects; I'll be collaborating to do more shows and a mini-tour with Lauren Kinhan of the New York Voices, more upcoming swing and early-jazz tours with Solomon Douglas and Glenn Crytzer, and plenty of other surprises so stay tuned and keep supporting live jazz music!!!
