Hey everybody! Lots of great stuff going on this month!
For starters, it's about to be Mothers' Day, and we've got one MOTHER of a gig for you this Thursday night, May 10th:
Thursday, May 10 - We are at WILF'S Restaurant & Bar at Union Station, from 7:30 to 10:30. This will be the trio, featuring Andre St James on bass and Donny Osborne on drums - plus special guests!!! Please come on down and enjoy some jazz with us!
Some other future dates of interest:
Friday, May 18 - NORTH BEND, WA - this night it's the Donny Osborne Trio, with Geoff Cooke on bass and yours truly on saxophonic instruments.
Sunday, May 20 - TILLAMOOK, OR - I'll be playing with the Harry James Orchestra at the Don Whitney Auditorium. It's a matinee show, starting at 3:00pm. Tickets $25
Sunday, May 20 - PORTLAND, OR - if you're in Portland and if you don't go to the coast for the Harry James show, please consider going to Ivories Jazz Lounge at 4:30pm to hear the great Mike Longo. Mike was Dizzy Gillespie's pianist and musical director for many years, he's only on the west coast for a couple of dates and this is one of them! 4:30pm, $20 ($10 students)
Wednesday, May 23 - PORTLAND, OR - I'll be performing with the Bria Skonberg Quintet at Ivories Jazz Lounge (15th & NW Flanders, in the Pearl District). Originally from Vancouver BC, Bria now lives in New York where she has spent the past year taking the Apple by storm! She regularly performs with jazz luminaries like Nicholas Payton, Wycliffe Gordon, Bucky Pizzarelli, and more. She's touring to celebrate the release of her debut US recording, "So Is The Day" - be sure to catch her in her only Portland appearance!
Thursday, May 24 - SEATTLE, WA - The Bria Skonberg Quintet performs live at the Russian Center. Details TBA
Friday, May 25 - PORTLAND, OR - Frontline Quintet (Jim Templeton, Pete Petersen, Paul Mazzio, Kevin Dietz, and Mike Snyder) performing at Ivories Jazz Lounge. 8:00pm $10
Wednesday, May 30 - PORTLAND, OR - The Pete Petersen Septet will perform (the Septet's only gig in May!!) at the Secret Society Ballroom (NE Russell & MLK) This is a fundraiser concert for the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival. More details TBA
