I get 50mbps unlimited for US $60/month in Australia. It's perfectly usable and I don't have any issues downloading games. If I need to download a huge 100GB+ game I'll just leave it going overnight or while I'm out.
Are there faster plans available, and if so how much do they cost? Usually it's easier to upgrade your speed with your provider so I would go with 40mbps first and see if it suits your needs before increasing to a more expensive faster plan.
I have 500 mbps download and I leave Youtube on 720p by default ... most youtube videos I watch don't need to be played in 4K, even in 1080 there's not a significant increase in quality, Still using older TN monitors at home so don't care much about color reproduction
Yeah 40 mbps is fine. If your Youtube/Netflix stutters or lags while you're downloading stuff, you can limit Steam or torrents to 25-30 mbps leaving you with around 10mbps that should be perfectly fine for HD videos.
