TheResident Evil series has changed significantly throughout the years. RE6 is one of the best examples of that since it's nothing like the early instalments, as it focuses more on action than horror. As such, combat is a much more important part of the overall experience.
Capcom needed to find ways to add variety to the many battles you get involved in throughout the story. It did that in multiple ways, including adding skills. Special abilities haven't always been in the RE series, but they're a big part of this one. So, you don't want to waste your skill points on useless talents. The following ones are anything but useless.
While all the RE6 protagonists are skilled to some extent, Ada Wong is the only one who works alone - besides the random faceless partner she has when playing co-op. The rest of them have a teammate. This means when you get taken down, your partner can rescue you. However, when you get up, you'll still be heavily injured.
This is where the Field Medic skill comes in handy. With it, they will give you a health tablet to get you on your feet, meaning you get more health back. At level two, the amount they give you increases. You don't need this skill if you're playing in co-op, but it's very usual when solo.
It's pretty clear what this skill does from the name alone as it makes enemies drop items more regularly. You may not need the skill late in the game when you're already tooled up. But in the early hours, it can be useful when building up your stock of ammo and skill points.
Getting a healthy amount of the latter, in particular, is important. After all, you want access to the best skills as quickly as possible. So, this is the classic case of you've got to spend money to make money, except with skill points instead.
There are three levels to this skill, and each one increases your chance of scoring critical hits on your adversaries. Level three boosts the likelihood by an incredible 100 percent. Of course, as in any game, the more critical hits you can land, the better.
In RE6, it's particularly helpful during the many moments when you're surrounded by monsters. On these occasions, being able to take them all out as quickly as possible is generally the goal. And this skill gives you more chance of getting some fast kills.
Even if you've played some of Resident Evil 6, you may not be sure what a combat Gauge is, as it's an unusual name. What it refers to is the stamina bar that you can find below your health. Naturally, this bar depletes anytime you do something physical, like using your array of melee attacks.
It can be annoying if it's regularly depleting. Therefore, the Combat Gauge Boost - especially on level two - is a useful skill to have as it increases the size of the bar, meaning your characters will take longer to get exhausted.
The Resident Evil series has regularly included some of the deadliest zombies in gaming. These creatures are not in every instalment, but they do appear in RE6 - or at least, the C-virus version of them does - and they are pretty much as strong as ever.
Unfortunately for them, skills like Zombie Hunter exist. When this is equipped, you do extra damage to zombies. On level one, you get a 20 percent boost, whereas it goes up by 30 percent on level two. It's most effective on Leon's campaign as he faces more of these creatures.
The J'avo are a lot more mutated than the average zombie, and you face a litany of them throughout the various campaigns. In particular, you see them a lot during the Chris and Jake stories. These meetings are never of a friendly nature, as the J'avo are intent on killing you.
Thankfully, you can make these battles significantly easier by getting the J'avo Killer skill. With it, you deal more damage to the beasts. Level two is the max for this one, and it gives you a 50 percent boost to your attacks on these types of enemies.
While playing through Resident Evil 6, you may notice a bunch of hidden details about the main characters. A detail that's not so hidden is that everyone has suddenly become a lot better at close quarters combat.
In the early games, the likes of Leon and Chris could barely swing a knife. Now they can throw out all sorts of moves. In fact, it's perhaps the most effective way of taking enemies down. With the Melee skill, you can make your fists and feet even more deadly as it increases the power of your melee attacks.
RE6 is easily the most action-packed main entry in the series. This is showcased by the amount of combat in the game. You can barely walk around for five minutes before you're attacked by a horde of infected creatures or a large boss. So, you're bound to take plenty of hits while playing through the game.
As handy as the melee moves are, you're probably not going to spend the entire game punching infected creatures. Most of the time, you will be shooting your way out of problems. And the Firearm ability can make your bullets deal much more damage.
RE6 doesn't have the in-depth weapon customization a few of the other instalments have. Therefore, grabbing this skill is a good way to improve your weapons - beyond finding better ones. The beauty is that it enhances all your guns at once, meaning it's useful whatever you're using.
You can't get every great skill in your first playthrough. For instance, you can only acquire infinite ammo for your weapons once you've beaten all four campaigns. Unfortunately, the skills are separate, too, meaning there isn't just one ability that covers all guns. Each firearm has its own infinite ammo skill.
There's no need to get them all, so just purchase the ones that are best suited to you. It'll set you back a fair amount of skill points, but it's worth it. After all, not having to worry about running out or picking up ammo makes things go a lot more smoothly.
Resident Evil 6 is a tough game to beat unless you know what are the best combinations to pick for your skill trees to help increase your chances of survival. Due to each character being uniquely different, you will need to select the best skills suited to match for each character in the campaign. All skills can be used by each character on the game but some are better suited for others.
Depending on the b.o.w., u can gain 1k to 5k skill points from each one you defeat. For some crates and other enemies can vary from 100 to 1k. The metal boxes, if you find any, can range from about 2k to 5k each.
I am only three trophies (Back in My Day, Leave it to the Pro & Mad Skillz) away from the platinum and I was wondering if there was a quick way to earn skill points. Just to clarify, I need a total of 485000 skill points (which is only for 6 skills) and the fastest ways I can think of are either still very time consuming or frustrating.
The first method I can think of is playing through the final checkpoint of the second chapter of Chris' campaign and kill all of the BOWs that always drop skill points (I usually end up with roughly 15000 by the end of any attempt of this checkpoint)
The chris campaign is what the trophy sites will say, but it's BS. It takes too much set up. Ada campaign 2-3 is super quick. 24k on the nose for 5minutes work. It's the most effective per hour and it will take care of any crystalid enemy requirements you need for the other trophy.
Invest in Infinite Shotgun ammo, Firepower, and Quick Reload right off. It will reduce your time per level. You can do it with other weapons but shotgun takes 2-3 shots per enemy with reloading only between enemies.
The best way I found for myself personally was to play the Mercenaries solo, the snowy cave one worked best for me, or whatever its called haha, but the urban chaos map is easier I guess. Skill points are continuously dropped throughout and harder enemies drop more points just like in the campaign. Try and unlock the secret boss for some more points too. Just remember to pick them up as you go along. As long as you're confident enough in mercenaries and know you can complete a round without dying then you can get upwards of 30,000 a round, sometimes a lot more depending on skill, combo chains and how you kill the enemies etc. Plus I found it really fun trying to beat my score each time, and actually ended up really high on the leaderboards at the time, yaay.
i played mercenaries a lot very addictive game for also if you need more points play the game online with a friend on veteran or pro you will get more points another note is that if you set the on the ability for unlimited ammo you wont receive a lot of points also here this method
Go to level 4, the shopping district section. It's very short with 2 boxes containing skill points - one for 2,000 and the other for 5,000. Total of 7k in skill points with no enemies and it only takes about 60 seconds to go through the area. Go through the door at the end of the section, and once it saves, exit, rinse and repeat. Easiest and fastest way I have found to farm skill points!
Also got my still remaining skill points thru playing mercenaries, for me simply more fun then replaying the chapters over and over. nt sure if teaming up with a friend brought me more points, but for sure u can keep up combos more easily.
Playing the Mercenaires is one shot to get that trophy, I did it last year and got over a million skills, just as long as you don't use any and wait till you've got them all saved up, you'll get enough.
