Dear PEtab community,

Thanks a lot for your nominations for the new PEtab editor replacing me as the outgoing editor at the beginning of March 2022.

We received 4 distinct nominations. Thereof, the following 3 candidates accepted their

nomination, listed in alphabetical order with the stated reason for nomination:

Adrian Hauber (Freiburg) Adrian is a brilliant scientist and already  worked a lot on PEtab and PEtab select.

Matthias König (Berlin)

Matthias has been active in the standardization of computational models for biology (SBML) being SBML and SED-ML editor. He has expertise in computational modeling and parameter fitting.

Severin Bang (Freiburg)

Severin is actively working with PEtab, is familiar with software development and Github and is still at the beginning of his PhD, thus will still be around for a while.

Elections are now open, vote your candidate here.

The election period ends at midnight CET on February 24th 2022.

After the end of the election period the nominee with the most votes will be asked to accept or decline the election.

If an editor-elect declines, the position will be offered to the next candidate according to the number of votes.

The editors will then announce the new editor via the mailing list.

Thank you for your consideration!

Svenja Kemmer

Dear PEtab community,

Unfortunately there was a miscommunication with one of the nominees.
Adrian Hauber didn't accept his nomination.

Thus, the following 2 candidates are up for election:

Matthias König (Berlin)
Matthias has been active in the standardization of computational models for biology (SBML) being SBML and SED-ML editor. He has expertise in computational modeling and parameter fitting.

Severin Bang (Freiburg)
Severin is actively working with PEtab, is familiar with software development and Github and is still at the beginning of his PhD, thus will still be around for a while.

The link for the elections stays the same, vote your candidate here.
Given votes don't have to be repeated unless you voted for Adrian Hauber. In this case, please select a new candidate.
Sorry for this inconvenience!

As announced, the election period ends at midnight CET on February 24th 2022.

Best,
Svenja Kemmer
on behalf of the PEtab editors

Dear PEtab community,

Thanks for your votes!

We are happy to announce that the PEtab editorial board will be completed by
Severin Bang
who is elected for the next three years starting tomorrow on March 1st 2022.

It was an exciting election with a very tight win and a rather low turnout of 46%.
For reasons of transparency, here the number of votes each nominee received:

Severin Bang - 7 votes
Matthias König - 6 votes

Looking forward to the second year of the PEtab editorial board!
