PEtab Editor Election 2023 - Call for Votes

Dear PEtab community,
Thanks a lot for your nominations for the new PEtab editors replacing Fabian Fröhlich and Frank Bergmann from the beginning of March 2023.
We received 4 distinct nominations. Thereof, the following 3 candidates accepted their
nomination, listed in alphabetical order with the stated reason for nomination:
Dilan Pathirana (University of Bonn, Germany) Reason for nomination: "Dilan has contributed a lot to PEtab development and management as well as promotion. He would be a good fit as a PEtab editor."
Marija Cvijovic (University of Gothenburg, Sweden) Reason for nomination: "The Julia toolbox for modelling and parameter estimation developed by her research group is an excellent example for the use of PEtab. Furthermore, she is an expert for dynamical modelling in systems biology and made various important contributions."
Matthias König (Humboldt-University Berlin, Germany) Reason for nomination: "Matthias has been an editor of several COMBINE standards, provides thorough feedback on the specifications and created implementations for exchanging parameter estimation setups in the past."

The election period ends at midnight CET on February 5, 2023.
After the end of the election period the nominees with the most votes will be asked to accept or decline the position. If an editor-elect declines, the position will be offered to the next candidate according to the number of votes. The editors will then announce the new editors via this mailing list.

Thanks for your active participation in the editor elections (voter turnout: 64%).
The results are as follows:
Matthias König 18 (39%)
Dilan Pathirana 16 (35%)
Marija Cvijovic 12 (26%)
Matthias and Dilan kindly accepted their election and will serve as PEtab editors from March 2023 until March 2026.
A warm welcome to Matthias and Dilan, and many thanks to the parting editors, Frank Bergmann and Fabian Fröhlich, for their valuable contributions.
