Venus came in from an impoundment on 2/23 and has spent some time in a foster home, where she was described as having the sweetest soul and the calmest temperament. She walks nicely on leash and prefers to stay close to her person, often choosing to walk politely at their side. Her easygoing style makes outings relaxed and enjoyable.
At home, Venus is happiest simply being near her person. She loves quietly keeping you company while you go about your day, content to lie nearby and share the space. She is affectionate, well-mannered, and clearly enjoys human companionship. During walks or while heading out the door, she will often sit politely in front of you, a charming habit that suggests she may have had some prior training.
Venus is still working on her housetraining routine as she adjusts to shelter life, but she is making progress and will go outside when taken out regularly. Like many dogs experiencing a big life change, she may take a little time to fully relax, but her confidence grows a little more each day.
In the shelter environment, Venus has shown barrier reactivity to humans, so she does best with a slow introduction to new people. She has also exhibited jumping and mouthing with familiar handlers.
Currently, Venus has an upper respiratory infection but is otherwise healthy. A full medical summary is available upon request.
