No one was on e-list today, but as you know we can't stop here. Lots of sweethearts at HIGH RISK this week. PLEASE REVIEW! Thank you to all those who have pulled and who are considering pulling! 

 

 

As an open-admission municipal shelter, we cannot stop the intake of stray animals. All animals who have passed their hold times are at immediate risk once their hold time is up. Firm commitments with pickup dates are urgently needed to prevent euthanasia.   

   

PLEASE review and pass along this email today or screenshot and post to social media—anything to get these sweethearts exposure.

This adorable little family were owner surrendered due to accidental breeding and owners were unable to care for them financially. They are all sweet and very social. Momma is a sweet gentle girl who just wants to cuddle in someone's lap!

Dog-friendly? Yes 

Found running in traffic! Just look at that sweet pouty face. This girl needs out NOW! She is super gentle and social with both dogs and people. She was so relaxed during her heartworm test that we'd call it one of the easiest blood draws in a long time. Very easygoing, with really endearing quirks such as frequent head tilts.

Heartworm Status: Negative  

Dog-friendly: Unknown but can test 

Stray found, surrendered to us. She is a DELIGHT! Would be a great exercise partner. Too cute and bright personality.

Australian Kelpie Mix, Black 

4 years old 

Female, Unspayed 

26 lbs. 

Heartworm Status:  unknown giving a few days to decompress  

Nervous but will let you pet her when its calm and quiet. 

Dog-Friendly? Kenneled with 3 other small females and does well. 

Mali’s a sweetie, and this photo doesn’t do her justice in the least bit. Gentle but guarded currently, understandably. She’s incredibly nervous and needs out ASAP.

Doberman Pinscher/Mix

Male, NEUTERED! 

49 lbs. 

Heartworm status: negative 

Bandit was an owner surrender from Friday. Surrendering due to owner being sick and son no longer being able to stay with the dog. Owner stated crate trained, good with kids, dogs, strangers, but not good with cats.

28 lbs 

Too young for HW testing

Roux is a HOOT AND A HALF. She's all personality and love. VERY smart and learned 'sit' within a minute or two. Loves to sniff around and make friends.

35 lbs.

Dog-friendly? As far as we can tell; kenneled with 1 other 

Caviar is a really friendly guy. Super unique look and very charming personality. He’s super perceptive and loves watching people. Smart and we imagine he could pick up on a routine in a home very fast. 

 

 

 

 

 

Luke (A055488) **TIME IS UP this FRIDAY 4/24** NEEDS RESCUE COMMITMENT 

 

 

German Shepherd/mix, Black & Tan 

7 years old 

Male, NEUTERED 

60 lbs. 

Heartworm status: We tried to get blood from Luke this morning, guys. He was NOT having it. That being said, he’s otherwise very gentle.  

Dog-friendly? The owner (ill) said he’s never been with other dogs. We have him kenneled with another male and they’re getting along and remain separate when feeding.  

PURE CANINE GEM, this guy. Confirmed to be 7 years old, and knows his name—Luke. Owner surrender; one of our officers went to the property directly to get him. You can tell he has had love and care behind all the nervousness of being in the shelter setting. Friendly. O says not good with cats and best with older kids. Docked tail! 

 

 

 

 

Eloise (A055498) **TIME IS UP this FRIDAY 4/24** NEEDS RESCUE COMMITMENT 

 

Shih Tzu, gray & brown 

~5 years old 

Female, unspayed 

60 lbs. 

Heartworm status: unknown – too matted to test so we need to shave leg 

Dog-friendly? That we know of so far. Kenneled with two larger dogs and unbothered. 

Eloise is incredibly gentle with a soft presence. A bit undersocialized possibly or just the nervousness of being in the shelter. She is severely matted (so much so that we haven’t been able to perform her heartworm test yet) and it’s even impacting her ability to walk comfortably. It’ll be amazing to watch her personality truly blossom once she settles in and gets a good grooming.
