Subject: Today's New Dogs Cherokee (Gaffney, SC) Animal Shelter 2/26/26

Name: SAGE
Kennel ID: St Ct
GAFFNEY, SC.
Shelter Hold has ended. Needs placement asap.
Breed: Shepherd x
Appearance: Tan/black
Gender: Female
Estimated Age: 9wks.
Estimated Weight: 12lbs
Health: No obvious issues.
Bio: Meet Sage. This adorable shepherd mix puppy is sweet, friendly, and full of that classic smart, curious shepherd personality. She’s at the perfect age to grow and learn with her new family. If you’ve been looking for a cute, loyal companion, Sage might be your girl.
Other Dogs: She is at the age where she would love to have a brother or sister to play with.
Cats: She is also the right age to learn proper cat etiquette. We recommend using caution until everyone shows that they can be trusted.
Children: We do not have kids to test with. We always recommend supervising children around dogs/puppies. Sometimes our dogs/puppies are active and might be too big for small children, and sometimes the children can be too rough around them.
Leash: No leash experience yet.
Additional Information: Stray hold has ended.

Name: POSSUM
Kennel ID: St Ct
GAFFNEY, SC.
Shelter Hold has ended. Needs placement asap.
Breed: Shepherd x
Appearance: Black/tan
Gender: Male
Estimated Age: 9wks.
Estimated Weight: 8.2lbs
Health: No obvious issues.
Bio: Meet Possum! Another little shepherd mix looking for his way out of the shelter. Possum is a bit of a stoic guy right now and honestly, that’s understandable. He’s just a young pup trying to take it all in while surrounded by a loud, busy environment. Underneath that serious expression is a baby who just needs a quiet home, patience, and a chance to feel safe. We know once he’s out of the shelter, his personality will start to shine.
Other Dogs: He is at the age where he would love to have a brother or sister to play with.
Cats: He is also the right age to learn proper cat etiquette. We recommend using caution until everyone shows that they can be trusted.
Children: We do not have kids to test with. We always recommend supervising children around dogs/puppies. Sometimes our dogs/puppies are active and might be too big for small children, and sometimes the children can be too rough around them.

Name: GEOFFREY
Kennel ID: 46 Os
GAFFNEY, SC.
Shelter Hold has ended. Needs placement asap.
Breed: Chihuahua x
Appearance: Tan
Gender: Male
Estimated Age: 2yrs
Estimated Weight: 14lbs
Health: No obvious issues besides arriving thin and needing some tlc.
Bio: Geoffrey is looking for someone patient to be in his corner. This 14lb little guy is as sweet as can be, but he’s unsure about the world right now. He trembles like a leaf when meeting new people and honestly, at his size, we can understand his concerns. The good news? He allows handling and wants to trust. He just needs a calm, understanding home to help him feel safe and build confidence at his own pace. If you have a gentle heart and a little extra patience, Geoffrey could be your perfect match.
Other Dogs: He's intimidated by larger dogs but non-reactive. Video available to our rescue partners by request.
Cats: Non-reactive. We recommend using caution until everyone shows that they can be trusted.
Children: We do not have kids to test with. We always recommend supervising children around dogs/puppies. Sometimes our dogs/puppies are active and might be too big for small children, and sometimes the children can be too rough around them.

Name: BJ (Billy Jack)
Kennel ID: 8 Is
GAFFNEY, SC.
Shelter Hold has ended. Needs placement asap.
Breed: Rottie
Appearance: Black/tan
Gender: Male
Estimated Age: 9yrs
Estimated Weight: 107lbs
Health: No obvious issues besides possibly having some hearing loss.
Bio: BJ (Billy Jack) is looking for a soft landing for his golden years. This gorgeous 9-year-old, 107-lb Rottweiler arrived with his registration and pedigree paperwork. A well-loved dog whose world changed overnight. He came to us after his person passed away, and his mom’s mobility challenges made it impossible for her to keep caring for him. Through it all, BJ has been brave, steady, and easygoing. He’s been a pleasure to work with. He's calm, cooperative, and dignified in that classic Rottie way. He doesn’t need much, just a comfortable home, a steady routine, and someone willing to give a big senior boy the love and security he deserves. If you can offer BJ a peaceful place to spend his golden days, he’ll repay you with quiet loyalty and companionship.
Other Dogs: He tests well with other dogs.
Leash: He walks well on a leash.
Additional Information: Owner surrender.
