URGENT!!
Maxii was originally at BCAS in April of 2026 as an owner surrender after her owner had to give her up due to breed restrictions in the home. It was noted that she had resided with kids but had not lived with other animals.
She worked on keeping all 4’s on the ground daily with our behavior staff as she was showing some overly jumpy/mouthy behavior. After releasing some energy, the behavior seemed to improve, but when overly excitable, it triggered the behavior more. In doggy playgroup, she was rude at greeting other dogs, was initially nippy but eventually settled and showed more appropriate behavior. She got adopted in early May from BCAS and has found herself back as a return after going after cats in the home. She never successfully got a hold of the cats but it was concerning the owner alongside her consistent jumpy/mouth behavior. She also had chewed up leashes, collars, and harnesses in home. Because of her not so pleasant history with cats and her jumpy/mouthy tendency she should be in a no cat, no kid home, and if going with other dogs will require an extensive shutdown and slow introduction period. Due to all of these behaviors, Maxii is seeking an approved rescue partner to take her in, get her further training, and help her find the best home in which she could thrive.
