Portabella (mom)- 1yo
+4, 12 day old kittens
Meet the Portabella's! This family was found as strays, in a basement. The whole family appears healthy, and kittens are nursing to mom well.
Unfortunately, mom is not having the best time at BARCS or during her intake exam. Mom got loose in cat holding and in our cat intake room, and was then caught in a net which limited her exam.
Mom is fine with us going in the cage and taking out each kitten, however, she hisses if you try to pet her and when you try to pick her up she makes every attempt to run away.
For another exam, we were able to grab her with gloves, but when held down, she bit a technician through the glove, no skin broken.
Mom is very stressed here. We’re really hoping in a quieter area she will calm down and settle!
