“Introducing the Perfect Pair - Koda & Patches
*Fully Vetted Female Coonhound & German Shepherd Mix
Koda- Female Coonhound Mix, approx 75 pounds, age 1.5
Patches - Beagle & German Shepherd Mix, approx 75 pounds, age 1 (named for her beautiful "Patches" around her face)
Either mom & baby, siblings, or just good ole besties, these two are the perfect pair. These cuties have been in foster with us since August 2025 in the Greenville/Tarboro area.
On a hot Sunday morning in August, Koda & Patches wandered into our yard, completely emaciated and covered with the largest ticks you'll ever see. They were hungry, in pain, but still so gentle and friendly and looking for affection. Their ribs were fully visible, and their ears were so sensitive to the touch from the ticks growing in every fold of their ears and entire body.
Once found, we moved them to the barn for a few days where they slept, and had initial veterinary appointments. We learned Koda (the larger, coonhound) was Heartworm positive. She has been on Simparica trio oral tablets (she takes with Pill pockets) & is due back for a test to see if the heartworms have been cured.
They would do best in a home with a fenced yard. They love walks, hanging out in the backyard, cuddling, stealing kisses, and playing tug of war. They love to chase each other too. They are crate trained and will come with their crate. No accidents in the crate, ever! Both, especially Koda, love car rides & hanging their faces out the windows & eating a pupcup from Dunkin donuts and Starbucks. They love other people, dogs, and attention. When cat tested (with inside cats), they were mostly curious, and didn't try to chase. They could do well in a home with cats, they would just need slow introductions as with any other new pet family member.
They will come fully vetted, with veterinary records, bedding, toys, crate! If we didn't already have several animals under our care, we would keep them. They are going to make amazing fur babies. They really just want love & a home with a couch to sit on. They adore any affection and are very gentle for their size.
Anyone interested can message me I have tons of photos and videos!! 🤩❤️”
