Meet Frosty
Frosty comes to us as a stray. With no collar/tags, microchip, or any luck from our Lost and Found page posting - he finds himself needing placement
![]()
We are seeking a breed specific or breed experienced rescue for Frosty. It's not uncommon especially for working breeds to struggle immensely under shelter stressors. Frosty appears to have some aversions to being restrained. He does well for collaring, leashing, and even being removed and placed back into his kennel! But he has a very low tolerance for medical handling. Due to him having some behavioral concerns that need future addressing, he is not available for adoption to the general public at this time.
ID#: 59942329
Breed: German Shepherd
Age: 3 years old
Sex: Unaltered male (can be neutered for rescue pull)
Weight: 90lbs

Moderate to severe amount of brown waxy and purulent debris AU, unable to clean ears plan to clean and treat ears while under sedation for neuter. Adult teeth present. Limited oral health exam. Very moderate dental tartar, with poss. Fx of upper 108, 208. H/L ascu - NSF. Coat and skin look good moderate amount of dry flaky skin present. No fleas visualized, large amount of flea debris present. P is ambulatory. No lameness noted. Both testicles are descended and are symmetrical. Idexx Heartworm Test: Unable to collect sample while P is awake due to temperament with restraint. P is mouthy and did low growl several times when attempting to place muzzle for safety. Unable to place muzzle I did not feel confident to push P to allow for muzzle place. Did do some confidence building with the muzzle and treats to have P have a positive experience in treatment room.
01/08 - Unable to administer Dapp booster. P does not like restraint. Staff attempted to do less is more and also tried wrapping muzzle with leash. P still growled when I approached him from behind each time and did not allow for vaccine to be administered.
