Good afternoon,

I am a volunteer sending this email on behalf of the Edgecombe County Animal Shelter in North Carolina.

Elroy was found by a Good Samaritan on the road looking scared and confused. He was wearing a nice harness and bright orange collar. He entered the shelter scared and timid, searching for his owners. He would always wag his tail when he saw his harness. After some time, he began to trust shelter staff and volunteers. He struggles to open up to new people, but once he does, he is a loyal companion. Elroy loves attention, and he certainly loves speaking his mind. He is a very vocal dog! Elroy is patiently waiting for someone to take him home-- so he never has to worry about being lost again.

Elroy is a big baby! He did a fine job meeting a male dog. Elroy was quite nervous around the other dog, and he wanted everyone to know it! Despite this big show, Elroy never attempted to start a conflict. When the other dog moved closer, Elroy simply walked away. I do not foresee any major issues with other dogs-- given that Elroy has proper time to adjust.

Once again, Elroy was a big baby. He did not show any potentially dangerous behaviors, and I did not observe any issues. He is simply a strange little man!

The results of this assessment reflect behaviors exhibited at the shelter during the time of testing.

Feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns. Thank you,

Sawyer McBride
