Clover and Ginger are two sweet girls who arrived at the shelter together. While they don’t need to be placed together, they do find comfort and security in each other’s presence, and having a familiar companion can help them feel more at ease.
Clover is housebroken, calm, playful, and thrives with her people. She walks well on leash, enjoys treats, fetch, snuggles, and has made tremendous progress building her confidence. She has played appropriately with larger puppies, is curious about small dogs, and has no known cat history. Clover can overcorrect during play and may flinch at sudden or prolonged touch from unfamiliar handlers. She has shown fear-based reactivity, such as barking at noises outside or when approached quickly on leash.
Clover is overweight (BCS 7/9) with poor muscling. Her hind paws show mild ventroflexion when weightbearing (left worse than right), meaning she shifts weight onto the back portion of her pads. Weight management and muscle-building will be important. Otherwise, she appears healthy.
Ginger is a sweet, slightly more fearful girl who is generally cooperative. She feels most comfortable when Clover is nearby. She flinches at sudden or prolonged touch from unfamiliar handlers and shows fear-based reactivity similar to Clover. Ginger is lower energy but enjoys walks, toys, and playtime with her person or Clover. She has been exposed to children ages 6–10 and remained calm, mostly choosing not to engage. She is housebroken and crate-trained. Ginger has shown interest in chasing small critters; slow acclimation to small or prey-like animals in the home is recommended.
Ginger is also overweight with poor muscling but otherwise healthy. A full medical summary can be provided for both.
