Subject: Advance Notice – Anticipated Euthanasia Log 8/14

Good morning Rescue Partners,
As part of a new communication process, Lexington County Animal Services is providing advance notice of animals anticipated to be placed on the following day's Euthanasia Log.
For today only, this email is being sent this morning due to the timing of today's Euthanasia Log decisions and our current lack of available space. Moving forward, this notice will normally be sent at approximately 5:00 PM the day before to give our rescue partners additional time to review the animals, coordinate fosters, arrange transportation, and determine whether they are able to assist.
These decisions are not made lightly. The Euthanasia Log is generally finalized in the mornings between approximately 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM, unless circumstances require a different timeline.
Because today's notice is being sent this morning, we are giving the animals listed below until 11:00 AM today to receive a confirmed rescue commitment and pickup plan.
The animals anticipated for today's Euthanasia Log are:
If your organization is able to assist, please contact us as soon as possible. We need a confirmed rescue commitment and a specific pickup plan. An expression of interest, request to hold an animal, or indication that a rescue is attempting to locate a foster does not constitute a confirmed placement.
Please understand that the list can change due to owner reclaim, adoption, confirmed rescue placement, medical evaluation, behavior assessment, or other unforeseen circumstances.
We truly appreciate your understanding as we implement this new process and, most importantly, your continued support and partnership with Lexington County Animal Services. Our goal is to provide our rescue partners with as much notice as possible while continuing to navigate our current space limitations.
Thank you for continuing to stand with these animals when they need help most.
