Subject: Can You Save Sweet Ginny's Life Today?! - Baltimore,MD
To: <aras...@aaha-rescue.org>

-Baltimore, MD
- Rescue Needed -

Ginny: altered female, 12y8m, 53.4lbs

Ginny came to BARCS on 7/17 through Animal Control and is looking for a rescue partner who can help her leave the stress of shelter life behind.

Ginny is a gentle, easygoing companion who has charmed staff with her sweet personality. She enjoys leisurely walks and strolls nicely on leash, already knows "sit," appears to be housetrained, and takes treats with the gentlest manners. More than anything, Ginny loves attention and happily leans in for scratches and affection from her favorite people.

When meeting other dogs, Ginny has shown that she can be tolerant of awkward play styles, though she can be somewhat pushy, particularly with female dogs, and does not always read social cues well. She has also displayed high-arousal mounting behaviors. In the shelter environment, staff have observed reactivity toward other dogs at barriers and while on leash. As with many dogs, the stressful shelter setting may be contributing to these behaviors, and she would benefit from continued guidance and appropriate dog introductions.

Ginny has moderate dental disease, including wear and staining of her teeth and a fractured upper canine tooth with pulp exposure that will require veterinary attention. She also has a small skin mass on her right forearm that should be monitored and evaluated. A full medical summary can be provided upon request.

Ginny is a loving girl with so much to offer. She is ready for a rescue partner willing to provide the medical care, structure, and stability she needs to thrive. With her affectionate nature and easygoing personality, Ginny has all the makings of a wonderful companion.

Please let us know if your organization can help!

Thank you,

The BARCS Rescue Team
