What a handsome boy! This sweet wiggle butt was found as a stray with a deep, full-thickness circular wound on his chest, possibly caused by a bite or projectile. He has been receiving pain medication and is being monitored by our veterinary team. Thankfully, he is bright and alert, and the wound is currently clean, though still deep. Despite whatever happened to him, this happy boy hasn't let it dim his spirit. He walks well on a leash, loves treats, adores being petted, and wiggles his whole body with excitement when given attention. He's handsome, happy, affectionate, and so deserving of a safe place to heal and a family to love him.

 

URGENT: We are currently over capacity, and  we are losing 18 kennels due to renovations. As an open-admission shelter, we cannot stop the intake of stray animals. All animals who have passed their hold times are at immediate risk once their hold time is up. Firm commitments with pickup dates are urgently needed to prevent euthanasia 

 

Lexington County Services in Lexington, South Carolina is in need of assistance placing these dogs with a rescue! These are available to a 501c3 rescue only.  We do exhaust every resource possible but unfortunately due to overcrowding dogs do become at risk of being euthanized. We can provide additional photos, video, vaccines, heartworm tests, health certificates, RABIES VACCINES or any behavioral assessments that may be needed

The phone number is 803-465-5726. We respond to rescue inquiries Monday through Friday 8am-5pm(EST) and it is checked regularly. We offer free transportation Monday through Friday during business hours locally which would be the area of Lexington County, City of Columbia, or Richland County. Our staff is very passionate about getting all of these wonderful dogs to safety and will help in any way possible!

 

When inquiring about a dog, an animal ID number is required and not just their name.
