Berry Needs Rescue 2 Years, 76lbs
Meet Berry, a 2-year-old Rottweiler in need of rescue. Surrendered into our care through no fault of her own, Berry’s previous family describes her as a playful, high-energy pup with a positive history around other dogs. She is reported to be housebroken and crate trained, loves car rides, and has no known history of resource guarding.
The kennel environment has understandably been stressful for Berry, and she has struggled with jumping and mouthing her handler, as well as displaying reactivity while in her kennel and navigating the shelter. However, once outside, we see a very different side of her. Berry relaxes quickly, engages with her surroundings, and happily plays games with our behavior staff. Despite the stress she has experienced in the shelter, she is a loving, people-oriented dog who genuinely enjoys interacting with her caregivers.
We have also begun introducing Berry to other dogs. While she is able to ignore and disengage from dogs when they are at a distance, she becomes increasingly tense and uncomfortable when they approach her. We believe Berry would benefit greatly from an experienced rescue that can provide her with the structure, patience, and support she needs to build confidence, work through her reactivity, and ultimately find a loving forever home.
Berry received a complete intake exam upon arrival and was given a clean bill of health.
