Medical:
Our veterinarians have detected a heart murmur in this pet. A heart murmur is an abnormal sound in the heart detected by a stethoscope. There is not a specific disease that we can associate with heart murmur without further diagnostics including, but not limited, to thoracic radiographs (chest xrays) and echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart). There are many different types and severities of heart disease and we recommend you seek a full cardiac workup at your veterinarian asap. Some heart disease does not require immediate medication, but in order to know for certain, diagnostics must be performed that we are unable to do in our shelter. Your vet can give you a better idea of prognosis for your pet.You understand that you are receiving this animal without any warranties, guarantees or representations about its medical or behavioral conditions prior to ownership. You agree to hold harmless the County of Spartanburg for all complications resulting from the adoption or rescue of your pet, to include loss of life, limb or property damages, disputes or claims.
