We’re sounding the alarm. There are still 14 dogs without a plan and less than 24 hours left. ...
These 14 dogs aren’t “problem” dogs — they’re wonderful dogs. Young and old. Playful and calm. Confident and shy. Truly a mix that could fit almost any home. The only thing they’re missing is someone to step up for them. 🐾  
⏰ Deadline: Tuesday, January 13 at 7 PM Please arrive at least one hour before closing to meet a dog.

Brownie is a petite sweetheart who knows how to enjoy the simple things in life: fresh air, tasty treats, and taking it all in at her own pace. She may be eager to bust out of her kennel, but once she’s outside, her calm and chill side really shines.
 
She went potty right away (and a few more times — gold star 🌟), then spent her time exploring and enjoying the moment. Brownie is very treat-motivated and happily chose snacks over toys, showing a thoughtful, easygoing personality.
 
She noticed another dog nearby but kept it cool and wasn’t overly interested, suggesting she may be a nice, low-key companion. And those expressive ears? They say everything — Brownie has plenty of personality without being over the top.
 
If you’re looking for a small, sweet pup with a relaxed vibe and a love for treats, Brownie is ready to melt your heart. 💛🐾

Champion is a gentle, calm boy with the best ears around — the kind you can’t help but admire. He has a quiet, steady presence and moves through the shelter at his own thoughtful pace.
 
In playgroup, Champion is part of the Gentle & Dainty group. His notes describe him as steerable, semi-engaged, tolerant, and mostly keeping to himself. He wasn’t very interested in other dogs at first, though he did show a bit of curiosity when meeting Milkweed. Overall, Champion seems content doing his own thing.
 
Inside his kennel, Champion is quiet and well-mannered, calmly observing the world around him. Outside, he went potty several times (good boy!) and showed off his sweet side. He knows sit, loves treats, and enjoys simply sitting close to his person, soaking up affection. Every now and then, he offers a soft kiss — just enough to melt your heart.
 
Champion is a low-key, affectionate companion who would likely thrive in a peaceful home where he can enjoy gentle companionship, snacks, and plenty of admiration for those adorable ears.

When first spotted, he was resting in his kennel beneath signs that read “please give me extra blankets” and “I am house trained, please take me out.” Even with extra blankets, he rose slowly—suggesting that hard kennel floors are not kind to aging joints.
 
Once outside, Deuce showed just how reliable he is: he was clearly house trained and made sure to take care of business right away (and more than once). He knows cues like “sit” and “wait,” and happily posed for photos, taking everything in with calm patience.
 
In the yard, Deuce enjoyed some gentle parallel play through the fence with a younger male pup, and the interaction was relaxed and friendly. In playgroup, he’s part of the 🎾 Gentle & Dainty group, with notes describing him as steerable, tolerant, playful, and a bit flirty.
 
Deuce is the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just comfort, kindness, and a soft place to rest. He would thrive in a home where his golden years are honored with warmth, routine, and love.

She walks nicely on leash and enjoys calm outings. While she wasn’t interested in a ball, squeaky toys did catch her attention. In playgroup, Dior is part of the 🎾 Gentle & Dainty group, described as steerable, semi-engaged, and content to keep to herself.
 
Dior would benefit from slowly gaining a few pounds with good nutrition, which will also help her flaky skin and thin coat. A caring home that helps her feel comfortable and well-supported will truly allow her to shine.

Ghost may be named after a spirit, but there’s nothing spooky about this boy — unless you count how quickly he steals hearts. 👻💙 Shelter volunteers are convinced he’s related to Casper the Friendly Ghost, because Ghost is every bit as friendly, smart, and lovable.
 
He was tucked away in the very last kennel in the back of the placement room — about as ghost-like as it gets — but the moment you make eye contact, he’s ready to go. Ghost walks happily on leash, follows your lead, and greets the world with enthusiasm and joy. He’s known to jump for joy (literally!) and often wears the most adorable, thoughtful expression — like he’s pondering the final question on Jeopardy.
 
Ghost knows “sit,” is very treat-motivated, and even showed off some impressive athleticism during agility play with a surprisingly high jump. Outside, he explored calmly, enjoyed his snacks, and went potty multiple times — ⭐ gold star behavior!
 
He absolutely lives for affection. When someone stops to give him love, Ghost lights up with pure happiness, and it’s easy to see why so many people fall for him so quickly. With his soft brown “eyebrows,” expressive face, and joyful personality, Ghost is the kind of dog who fits beautifully into just about any home.
 
Ghost is ready to leave the shelter behind and start the happy chapter he’s been waiting for. 👻🐾

But step into the interaction room with him, and you’ll meet a completely different dog.
 
Away from the noise, Legolass is calm, slightly shy, and incredibly sweet. He knows sit, takes treats gently, and with a little encouragement, his tail starts wagging and he leans in for affection — even offering a few kisses once he feels comfortable. Have you ever been to a store where the really good stuff is kept in the back? We’re not saying the shelter is hiding Luna… but until a kennel opens in the main adoption room, you’ll need to ask to meet her — and trust us, she’s worth it.
 
Luna is a happy, playful girl with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She knows sit, takes treats gently, and is very treat-motivated. When she’s feeling extra charming (which is often), she’ll proudly offer a paw. She’s eager to please and clearly loves connecting with her people.
 
And just look at that sweet photo!
 
In playgroup, Luna is part of the Gentle & Dainty group, and her joyful spirit speaks for itself. She went potty right away (A+ manners ⭐), loves toys, plays nicely, doesn’t mind sharing, and is always up for a friendly game of tug. She met another dog through the fence but decided cookies were more exciting at the moment — priorities! Add in nonstop tail wags and sunshine energy, and you’ve got one delightful pup.
 
Sometimes the real gems are the ones you have to ask for. Luna just might be yours.

Queso is a handsome, big-hearted guy — just look at that face! He gives off the impression of a dog who’s had some basic training and experience in a home before. He’s easy to leash in his kennel and, while he can pull a bit at first when heading outside, he settles into a more moderate walk after taking care of business. He may have had some prior house training and would likely just need a quick refresher in a home.
 
Socially, Queso showed polite interest in another dog through the fence, offering a brief sniff before moving on. Later, in the larger run, he enjoyed a longer, friendly greeting with plenty of wags and sniffs. He also had a great time playing with toys — engaged but not overly jumpy or mouthy — showing nice manners for a big guy.
 
Queso knows “sit,” “wait,” and “paw,” and he’s happy to show them off in exchange for treats. At 3 years old, he’s not over-the-top energetic, but he does have the moderate activity needs of a young, athletic dog. He’d likely thrive with a family committed to daily walks, outdoor time, and the occasional adventure or hike.
 
If you’re looking for a smart, social, adventure-ready companion with a goofy smile and a solid foundation, Queso could be your perfect match. 🧀🐾

Although Rabbit is listed in the Rough & Rowdy playgroup, when I spent time with him, he showed a much softer side. He was understandably timid at first, so I let him set the pace and respected his boundaries.
 
When I sat down, something special happened — Rabbit chose to trust. He came over, sat close, and quietly asked for affection in the gentlest way, even while still feeling unsure. He’s a bit hand-shy and clearly still learning that the world can be kind, but treats helped build that trust (and he’s very motivated by them!).
 
Rabbit knows “sit,” has the most beautiful eyes and expressive ears, and you can tell he wants to be brave. He even chased toys for a bit before deciding that exploring was more his speed.
 
Rabbit will truly shine in a calm, patient home where he’s given time to decompress and feel safe. With consistency, kindness, and love, this sweet boy has everything it takes to blossom into a devoted companion.
