JetBlue Airways flies to more than 100 destinations in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. The airline also recently started flying to some European destinations.

If you're ready to book a flight but don't want to leave your furry friend at home, you're probably wondering, "Does JetBlue allow pets?" In short, yes: JetBlue's pet policy allows you to bring eligible pets.

While many airlines allow travelers to bring pets on board, airline fees and restrictions vary. Let's look at JetBlue's pet policy, in-cabin pet options, and how flying pets with JetBlue compare to other airlines.

JetBlue Pet Policy
You must follow the airline's policies to bring your pet on a flight. These rules ensure a positive experience for you, your pet, your travel companions, and airline staff.

A maximum of six pets are allowed per JetBlue flight for all passengers, so it's best to book your pet's ticket as soon as possible.

You can only bring small dogs or cats on JetBlue flights; Other types of animals are not allowed.

The airline charges $125 per pet each way, which is equivalent to $250 for a round-trip flight. These fees are non-refundable; However, they become flight credits valid for one year if you cancel your flight.

JetBlue TrueBlue loyalty program members earn an additional 300 points per flight segment when adding a pet to their reservation.

Each passenger can bring up to two pets on flights. However, if you bring a second pet, you will have to purchase an additional ticket. You will also be required to pay a pet fee for each pet.

The attached pet carrier cannot exceed the specified dimensions and must fit under the seat in front of you.

The combined weight of your pet and its carrier cannot exceed 20 pounds.

Pet carriers count as carry-on luggage. However, as Blue Basic fares do not include carry-on luggage, these passengers will be able to bring a pet and a small personal item.

While JetBlue flies to more than 100 destinations, pets are not allowed on flights to Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, or Europe.

Vaccination and documentation requirements vary by state and country. Passengers must follow all applicable laws and have necessary documents on hand before traveling with their pets.
Pet policy in cabin
If your dog or cat meets the requirements listed in JetBlue Airways' pet policy for cabin travel, you will need an airline-approved pet carrier. The carrier should have a waterproof bottom, have room for your pet to stand and turn, be securely fastened, and have adequate ventilation. The baby carrier must be able to fit under the seat in front of you. Your pet must remain in the carrier for the duration of the flight.

Only four (4) pets are allowed per flight. The fourth pet must be reserved at the airport ticket counter within 24 hours of departure and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pets allowed:
Small dogs and cats.

Age requirements:
Puppies and kittens must be at least 8 weeks old to fly domestically.
