QA Engineer – Embedded/Automotive:
Overview:
- The Embedded/Automotive Quality Assurance team is responsible for flawless delivery of NVIDIA’s Software & Product Development Kits centered around our Tegra series of Processors, which also have an integrated GeForce class GPU
- Our Reference HW platform is driven by the NVIDA TEGRA series of processors with support for various interfaces like Video capture, NAND, NOR, CAN, MOST, Ethernet, SD/MMC, USB, PCIe, SATA, I2C, SPI, UART, LVDS, VGA, HDMI, I2S/TDM/SPDIF Audio, etc. – to name a few
- Our SW Development kit packages a Linux/QNX/Android based Operating System with drivers for the various supported HW interfaces, Cross-compilers, Source code, Tools and detailed documentation. We fully support API’s & standards like OpenGL, OpenVG, OpenKODE, OpenMAX, Gstreamer, CUDA, OpenCL etc.
- The Development kits are delivered to customers who seek to implement cutting edge technologies that we have to offer, who then integrate them into real world Automotive solutions (Instrument clusters and Infotainment systems) & Embedded products (Netbooks, Gaming devices, Media players, TV’s, Set Top Boxes, etc.)
- An Embedded/Automotive QA engineer is expected to work with all HW and SW components of the development kit and have good depth and breadth of knowledge in the above mentioned technologies
What Embedded/Automotive QA Engineers do:
- Access bleeding edge computing that is deployed in Automotive super brands like Lamborghini, McLaren, BMW, Audi, Tesla & others – innovation the world is yet to see
- Work on Technology that drives Smartphones/Tablets, Digital dashboards, Entertainment systems, Navigation, Night-Vision, Pedestrian detection, Collision detection, Automated driving, Lane detection systems & others
- Find, report and help fix issues in these Technologies ahead of delivery to Customers & Manufacturers
- Work with the brightest minds in Engineering and influence Product Quality and Design – revel in futuristic technology as it unveils in front of you, while being an intrinsic part of it
- The jack of all trades. Wide exposure and learning opportunities in areas of High Performance-Low Power Computing, Visual Computing, Graphics and Multimedia domains

Primary requirements:
- Burning passion to work on cutting edge technologies, and a constant drive to learn and improve
- Good HW, SW & Operating System (Android/Linux or QNX) fundamentals surrounding the building blocks of PC’s & Embedded systems
- Read C code and understand it at a basic level, while being able to write simple programs and solve problems
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Strong Analytical skills with a mindset that questions assumptions; with a willingness to continuously help improve processes and procedures
- Confident, self-driven individual with a lot of curiosity, and a desire to add value to an already strong quality team
- Ability to work independently with a willingness to share knowledge with peers to improve the quality of the team on the whole
