If the question and answers provided above do not answer your specific question - why not ask a new question of your own? Our community and flight simulator experts will provided a dedicated and unique answer to your flight sim question. And, you don't even need to register to post your question!

Be sure to search for your question from existing posted questions before asking a new question as your question may already exist from another user. If you're sure your question is unique and hasn't been asked before, consider asking a new question.

Since you ask, I think the login process is too cumbersome. It should be the type that remembers your name and password, unless you have had security problems and are using this because of that.I've never seen this type of sign-in anywhere else.Thanks...

I got FlightSim Manager a while ago. then one time when I was flying I noticed that the ground texture, did not look like it used to before I got FlightSim manager. For a screenshot of the ground e-mail me at: railtyc...@yahoo.com...

Modern browsers have many paranoid security measures that can block perfectly safe files - a date discrepancy between your computer and the server, an expired or misread certificate, a reported file size that doesn't match the download, etc. Firefox, and the d/l manager I use, give options to download/accept the file anyway.

Possibly those folks behind the screen have tweaked something which now causes this; we're still waiting for file searches to behave and links from other sites to stop reporting "oops, we can't find that".

That's true of about every site, Until it is an issue! There are those out there all over the world finding new ways into our sites and onto our computers every day! I try to stay very vigilant and do every update I hear about, But even then from time to time one slips under the rug.

This only started on Chrome a few days ago. Doesn't happen when the exact same file is downloaded from other sites, so this is a Flightsim.com only issue. Seems to be limited to MSFS files as all the FSX files I tried all downloaded without error, while all MSFS files were blocked. Unfortunately Chrome doesn't appear to have an easy way to allow the download if it is blocked and there is no option to change it for just that download.

In my opinion any advice to ignore downloads blocked by your browser is bad advice. While MSFS files happen to be harmless, many users will not have the technical expertise to make that decision. And who is to say if Flightsim.com hasn't been hacked and some malicious code has been added to the download. I am not willing to take that risk, so I don't expect people who download my liveries to do that either. As a result I pausing all uploads to Flightsim.com until the issue has been resolved.

As this is only a problem with MSFS files uploaded to Flightsim.com, it would seem that Flightsim.com need to resolve the issue.

Yes, this is still going on; the site does something to files/procedures that triggers a malware warning on download. My d/l manager receives the file, holds it in limbo somewhere, and tells me it has a virus; it passes all virus scans, even online, so I just click on the error message and "allow". Happens with Firefox and Brave.

I'm pretty sure the web site has not changed, so it's likely browsers are now triggering on something new that did not bother them before. I have to believe this problem is widespread beyond just FlightSim.Com. If you have some time, rather than just talking about it here, can you research the actual cause and report back?

Firefox worked fine but Edge blocked a file for me. Something about the site triggered Microsoft's Defender SmartScreen. While it is possible for those of us downloading to file a report through Edge to say the file is safe, the best solution is for the owners to file a report with Microsoft to get the site cleared. Telling people to simply ignore the warnings isn't a great long term solution as sooner or later someone will ignore a legitimate warning.

In the past 24 hours I have downloaded content from FlightSim, AVSIM, SOH, SimV and several pdf's from various Websites using Chrome; none of the Downloads from the aforementioned Sites triggered a Warning message except here at FlightSim. It will happen here for a few days then the Warnings will stop. A few days later the Warnings start up again.

This is by far the most popular category in the file library, with more hits than any other categories. This section covers commercial jets and mainly high capacity, passenger planes. These are the large jets you travel on when you go on vacation - names you would have heard of such as Boeing and Airbus. Included are Boeing 747, Boeing 737, Airbus A380, Concorde models, all for easy installation into your copy of FSX.

Enhancing the default scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator X will greatly improve the level of realism you demand from the sim. Included in this section are many airports, airfields, towns, cities and even global scenery enhancement packages. Some of the global scenery packages are large in file size.

High speed jets, supersonic fighter aircraft, modern and war-time military legends are featured in this section. You can find many of the fighter jets being used from all divisions of the world's military forces. Propeller driven and general aviation planes are some of the most fun to fly. Without the need of ATC and flight plans, you can take-off from your local airfield or airstrip and explore the countryside from the pilot seat. Including some of the big general aviation names such as Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft and more.

Rotorcraft and helicopters have always been somewhat difficult to fly in any flight simulator package, be it Microsoft Flight Simulator or the X-Plane series; flying has always been challenging. Even in real life, piloting a helicopter takes longer to learn than a fixed-wing aircraft. Included within this section are many of the most popular helicopters and rotorcraft. Installation is usually quite easy and many of the files include a read-me document explaining the installation procedure.

Historic and vintage aircraft have always been fun to fly - with minimal technology installed on them, the pilot is the true captain. With bi-planes, tri-planes and early prop and radial engine craft included in this section; you're sure to find the nostalgic moment right for you.

If you've already installed one of the add-on aircraft from the library, you may notice that it uses the default panel included in lots of other packages. This section will provide you with a specific panel (flight deck) for replacement of the default. It's a very easy way to upgrade your add-on.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X included a new feature never before seen in Microsoft's sim series - Missions. Missions enable the user to follow instructions, complete a task and then receive a reward at the end of the mission. Missions allow the simulation package to act more like a "game" in the sense that you don't have to be too "serious" about flying. Included and many fun and challenging missions packs that you may install alongside the default ones.
