Giventhat it took Square Enix the best part of a decade to develop it, it should probably come as no surprise that Final Fantasy 16 is one of the most action-packed games in the long-running JRPG series to date. Players can expect to spend countless hours with this latest installment, particularly those who are planning to unlock every last Trophy in Final Fantasy 16.

There are 50 FF16 trophies in total, 12 of which are unlocked as part of the main story. Most of the rest are tied to combat feats, collectibles, and unlocking and upgrading skills and equipment. The big exception is the "Fantasy, Finally" Trophy, which will require players to complete a New Game+ mode playthrough while playing on the "Final Fantasy" difficulty setting.

Updated April 19, 2024, by Tom Bowen: With the release of The Rising Tide comes 13 new FF16 Trophies, some of which are a little tricky to unlock. As such, we've decided to update out Final Fantasy 16 trophy guide to include detailed instructions on how to unlock every Rising Tide Trophy, with links to more in-depth guides where appropriate.

The best time to earn this Trophy is during the "Fanning Embers" main story mission while up against the Midnight Raven boss. Players can either save before the fight and reload if they get hit or return to the fight using the Arete Stone once they've grown a bit stronger.

This Trophy will come naturally as players grow stronger. To speed things up a little, players should be sure to save powerful Eikonic Abilities like Gigaflare and Flames of Rebirth for when the enemy is staggered.

To unlock the "Packing Heat" Trophy, players will need to use Deadly Embrace to launch enemies into the air and then kill five of them. This can be done over the course of multiple battles. It can help to weaken the enemies beforehand.

With Ramuh as Clive's active Eikon, pressing the Circle button will trigger Blind Justice, where players will be able to lock on to up to six enemies at a time by hovering the aiming reticule over them and then pressing Circle again. The "I Am the Thunder" Trophy will be unlocked after firing off fifty lightning balls. This can be done over multiple battles.

To unlock the "Rod to Redemption" Trophy, players should place a Lightning Rod and then position Clive so that the rod is directly between him and the enemy. If done correctly, the enemy should end up charging into the lightning rod and taking damage.

With Titan as Clive's active Eikon, pressing Circle just as an enemy attack is about to land will result in a Titanic Block. If players press Square three times after this, Clive will perform a special counterattack. Doing this twice in a single battle will unlock the "Beat Rocking Blocks" Trophy.

With Bahamut as Clive's active Eikon, pressing Circle will lead to him charging Megaflare. To unlock the "100 Mfps" Trophy, players simply need to charge it to level 2 or higher and use it enough times for 100 of the resulting energy orbs to hit enemies. This can be done over multiple fights.

With Shiva selected as Clive's primary Eikon, pressing Circle to dodge just as an enemy is attacking will trigger Cold Snap, which will inflict Permafrost on the attacking enemy. Doing this ten times will unlock the "Oh, Snap!" Trophy.

Unlocking the "Cold-blooded" Trophy is easiest against large waves of weaker enemies. Players should whittle down their HP a little and then use Frostbite, Permafrost, or Diamond Dust while the enemies are clumped together.

To perform a Steel Counter, players will need to be using Odin's Arm of Darkness weapon. Assuming they are, they'll need to parry an enemy attack and then immediately press Square to counter. Doing this three times in a single battle will unlock the "Fistful of Steel" Trophy.

After a certain point in the game, players will gain access to a reading table in Clive's chambers. To unlock the "The Pen is Mightier" Trophy, they'll simply need to read ten letters, which are sent to Clive after certain side quests and main story missions have been completed.

Most players will unlock this Trophy as part of a regular playthrough, though there are one or two locations that are tied to certain side quests, such as the settlement of Dravozd, which players visit while completing the "Blacksmith's Blues III" side quest.

After unlocking Leviathan's Eikonic Abilities, players will be able to activate Serpent's Cry by pressing the Circle button during combat. While Serpent's Cry is in use, players can fire Tidal attacks by pressing either Square or Triangle. Landing 300 such attacks will unlock the Tideslinger Trophy.

While using Serpent's Cry, players will be able to refill the Tidal Gauge by pressing the Circle button. If they press it again while the glowing circle is inside the white circle, they'll perform a Quick Refill, which grants unlimited ammo for a short time. To unlock the Supersoaker Trophy, players just need to hit three different enemies with Tidal attacks before this period runs out.

Kairos Gate becomes available once players have completed the main story and channeled Ultima's abilities. Completing all twenty circles in a single Kairos Gate run will unlock the Occasio Calva Trophy.

For your first time playing through it, Final Fantasy 16 has only one difficulty. That being said, you can lower the level of challenge by equipping special items, which make certain combat actions much easier to pull off. Using these does not affect Trophies, so feel free to take advantage of them if you're struggling. For more info, see our guide: Final Fantasy 16: How to Change Difficulty, Difficulty Accessories.

After you beat the game, you unlock a harder difficulty named Final Fantasy, which you can only play in New Game + mode. There is a Trophy named Fantasy, Finally that requires you to complete the game on this higher difficulty setting.

This means that, in order to get the Platinum Trophy and complete the list, you need to beat the game twice \u2014 once normally, and the other on Final Fantasy difficulty on New Game +. To make this a little easier, you can use the difficulty-altering items mentioned above during your New Game + run.

Final Fantasy 16 does not have any missable Trophies. After you complete the game, you can load your \"clear game\" save file, which will return you to just before the final main quest. From here, you can complete any outstanding side quests, defeat notorious marks from the hunt board, and roam the world in search of treasures and crafting materials. Many of the Trophies relate to specific feats achieved during combat, and there are always opportunities to go out into the world and pick a fight to nab these.

Looking for a Final Fantasy 16 Trophy guide? As part of our Final Fantasy 16 guide, we're going to help you unlock all Trophies and show you how to get the Platinum. This Trophy roadmap will explain everything you need to know about clearing the game's Trophy list.

Final Fantasy 16 has a total of 69 Trophies to collect, including the precious Platinum. There are 50 Trophies in the base set, six for the Echoes of the Fallen DLC, and 13 for The Rising Tide DLC. The Trophies for the DLC packs are not required to earn the Platinum. In this part of our Final Fantasy 16 Trophy guide, we're going to list all Trophies and how to get the Platinum, while also answering some crucial questions you may have about the game, like whether there are any missable or difficulty-related Trophies.

Final Fantasy 16's Trophy list is one that you can (mostly) complete in one playthrough. There are several related to story moments, so they'll unlock as you progress. A lot of the list is made up of very specific combat feats, so you will need to experiment with new Eikons and abilities to get all of these. They're not too tricky, and you may get many of them through normal play.

Then there are Trophies for, essentially, completing all the optional side activities in the game. This includes completing most of the side quests and beating all the notorious mark hunts. These lead to completing other Trophies, such as crafting the best sword in the game and unlocking numerous extra rewards. Obtaining these Trophies is not difficult, but will add a considerable number of hours to your play time.

As mentioned above, there is one Trophy that necessitates a second playthrough on New Game + and with the Final Fantasy difficulty enabled. This should be your last one, as the rest of the list is pretty straightforward.
